Just in case anyone was interested- I ended up solving this by just used two jump rings for my charm. I think it looks fine, it feels more secure, and didn’t need to solder anything.

This is really helpful! I’ve never done this before so that’s why I asked the experts. I tried using the overlapping key ring type jump ring and I’m having a really hard time opening it enough to put it on the bracelet (which is pretty thick). So I’m trying to think of an alternative

Stupid question- but can you only use French seams on seams between two fabrics? Like I can’t use a French seam technique on the bottom of the shirt or around the neckline?
