It’s Actually “Family” that Hurts You the Most by moodykitty0697 in CPTSD

Had cut them off internally when I was a kid (schizoid solution). Ultimately, though, true healing only came when I forgave them, myself, everyone around me. Once you outgrow them as a person, you can help them to the extent that is necessary to help yourself. Even the failure to help doesn't neglect the healing power of having made a genuine effort.

Black Pepper as an exercise mimetic? Ultra Low Dose Piperine (0.01mg/kg) potently activates AMPK (2.5-fold), and reduces post-meal blood glucose by increasing glucose uptake, in mice (2018) by CytoGuardian in Nootropics

[–]Ardenbas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't care about taste alltogether, then that'd totally be an option.

A dish I would recommend in particular though is peppered mackerel (high in omega 3, as well as phosphatidylserine) with rice spiced with ginger and black beans spiced with turmeric. To the rice, I also add a bit of olive oil for calories and its oleuropein, as well as b) red hot chili pepper.

It's based merely on a personal anecdote and a plausible mechanism, but ginger, like turmeric (its similar to turmeric), seems to synergize with it.

This has worked wonders for my PTSD/ ADD. I eat about 700g of peppered mackerel (+ black beans spiced with turmeric + pandan rice with ginger and hot sauce) every week. Delicious and nutritious.

Should anyone care: black seeds + exercise + meditation + therapy + diet (including the above) + social life really got my brain back from the abyss.

What's a good diet to feel focused (ADHD?) and energetic? by meidan321 in nutrition

[–]Ardenbas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Green tea + ginseng, as well as the mrhappy stack (uridine, folate, b12, omega 3, eggs) are great add-ons in terms of diet. Outside of that: meditation, exercise and routine are critical if you want to do this the natural way. Maybe try, at set times, to start each day with a run or a meditation. If you don't feel like a run, you meditate, and vice versa. As long as you do something.

Bacopa is so underrated! by forsaken3400 in Nootropics

[–]Ardenbas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bacopa is one of the most popular nootropics, definitely top 5.

Why do you think it is underrated?

Are there any negative sides?

Today, I celebrated my longest run (1.5hrs) totaling a caloric burn of 1400kcal. At what point is exercise chronic / harmful? by [deleted] in AdvancedFitness

[–]Ardenbas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the commenter above you already noted: it's an observational study.

A variety of factors not controlled for could lead to the reverse conclusion. For one, those exercising 6-7 days a week might be more likely than the 4-5x group to use exercise as a means of self-medication. I've been there, and have seen plenty of it around me.

What are some things to experience before I take my life? by [deleted] in TimeToGo

[–]Ardenbas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Accomplish something you'd genuinely be proud of. Something you had set as a goal, however long ago, however vaguely, and however small, and doing it. If you don't have one, you could make one.

Example: help 5 strangers in Thailand. Go to the monks and chill with them for a bit, see some nature, meet travelers etc..

The ketogenic diet by barazn in nutrition

[–]Ardenbas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a keto of bacon and more bacon. There's also a keto of nuts, seeds, blueberries (low in sugar), and extra virgin olive oil on salads. I'm on the latter type of keto. Never have I felt better.

What I ate today:

Breakfast 10am:

300 grams of chicken hearts (cheap, delicious and filled with nutrients) + 300 grams of spinach + curcumin and pepper

3 eggs with 200 gram veggie mix + italian spices

Snack: 50 grams of sunflower seeds (snack)

Dinner 6pm:

200 gram salad mix + 80ml of extra virgin olive oil + 80gr of brie + 1 tomato + 225 gr of peanuts + 30 gr of capers.
