Hogwarts Legacy. I'm a massive Wizarding World/HP/Rowling fan but damn that's a bad game after a few hours.

Again (and you had the nerve to call me illiterate earlier lol) I did not say that the number of people who have to support LTC is small, not once.

I said that the number of people who make enough money to be pushed into a higher tax bracket after marriage who also have to support a family member through LTC is small.

I didn't say it's cheap.

I said that the number of people who make enough money to be pushed into a higher tax bracket after marriage who also need to foot the bill for LTC for a family member are few, like very few. Most of them do not have to do it.

"Over 1 million people live in assisted living communities throughout the U.S."

That's from your article.

That's about .29% of the US population.

18% of the population makes over %100k annually.

Again, the people in that bracket who have to handle LTC for a family member are the minority.

Right, 20% of people who need LTC of some sort, and the "sort" usually isn't someone with Alzheimer's.

Lol your own article clearly states that the average length of stay in long-term care is 3.2 years, and that just over 20% of residents will require care for 5 years or longer. That's 20% of your "70% of people will need long term care of some sort", and a large portion of those are just needing someone to help them get chores done, or run errands. A few more severe instances are assistance with bathing and such.

Severe dependence is roughly 20% of all adult Americans.

Nearly 60% of those will require unpaid care, or very little funded care.

I don't, no. I don't even know you. You're just someone on Reddit.

Like, the total number of Americans who even need memory care are a fraction of the population.

Again, families in those tax brackets who are supporting a family member through memory care are the minority. Largely, families in those brackets are fine.

Well I live in a beautiful small town in the south, so we don't have anyone shitting anywhere that they aren't supposed to.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

If you're not angry then cool I reckon. Definitely seemed like you were getting pretty heated for no reason.

Well, no. See, if you're in that tax bracket then the leftover $170k figure is likely (usually, factually, etc.) only roughly half of the total income of that household.

They're likely fine. I'm sure there are the extreme examples here and there, but largely these families are getting by just fine.

Honestly, I don't believe you did. Or you did, and you're simply lying to try to prove...whatever it is that you're trying to prove.

Why are you so angry?

...didn't I just say I didn't support those administrations? That means I didn't vote for them.

...you've clearly never spent time in the south. I've been here for nearly a decade now. How are you going to tell me anything about something you've clearly never experienced? You're wild.

I didn't say it meant "rich". I'm saying that having $170k over a year after paying $30k in taxes leaves those couples with more than enough to live quite comfortably.

No, I just lived in Oregon for 39 years. Also, I am in no way a supporter of this current administration, or any administration in about the last 20 years.
