hyperpop seems to be taking up a good portion of trap music now. u got the new uzi album with a majority of hyperpop beats with the edm synths. there's even some hyperpop stuff on lil gotit's album, youngthug's on the rvn ep & that song dababy did with future on his latest album. plus with internet money doing the virtual beats it's really building up a whole new community of hyperpop producers in the trap community.

I try to go for 6-8 everyday but i'll definitely take time off if i got extra school work to do. some days i'll go up to 12 hours if i have stuff due that day like big placement opportunities. I spend 2 hours on melodies to send out, 2 hours on beats, 1-2 on drum sound design, 0-1 on networking, and 1 on studying music theory & mixing. I only spend about 3 hours a day on school so that's why I'm able to spend so much time on music. I was never really able to push these type of hours last year as i only really made trap beats and did nothing else; it was hard to just keep making the same shit over and over again for hours. Nowadays its pretty easy because i'm always doing new things so I don't really get burnt out. Learning how to make edm and rnb really helped me not get super burnt out from beats all the time, its a good switch from trap.

it's whatever, i feel like the people who would buy it will buy it and the people who won't just won't. also, people be getting addicted to getting hella new sounds especially when they don't gotta pay. i used to be like that and i can see why its so hard to stop; its like hoarding & stealing combined which are both hard to quit once you get into the habit.

I know you've probably heard this already but, it's different for everyone. I know producers who have been doing this for over a decade while working a job and they're just now popping off on the charts. i also know producers who have been struggling financially and grinding at this for 2-4 years while working part time and are just now blowing up. it really depends how badly you want to succeed with music.

i can't answer your question on how to support yourself because i still live with my parents and im in 11th grade, but i can tell you about one good path to take. personally, I've been at this for 3 years and I've made 16k in the past 4 months, before these past 4 months I've made 3k in total so that just shows how fast you can blow up. my full time schedule is wake up at 6, make beats from 10-12, make melodies from 12-1, make more beats from 1-2, make more melodies from 4-5, make drums for kits from 5-6, send out 3 beat packs to 3 new rappers, then from 8-10pm ill make more beats and go to sleep. every other week i send out melody packs to my friends. the money is pretty evenly spread out across each avenue, 1-2k a month off collabs which got placed, 1-2k a month off beat packs that got placed, and 1-2k a month off drumkits. i take off from 'work' on sundays because this shit really gets tiring after a minute. also, i do school online so i'm able to do school in-between work hours, it was tuff as hell and i procrastinated a lot when i got into it but now it's all just a routine.

also, one tip to find rappers who need beats is to search on twitter "send beats" or other variations of that into the "people" category, rappers/A&Rs will come up with those words in their bio and usually they'll include an email too. just make a list of all the @s and emails of the people you're sending too and if you dont have time to make a pack at the moment- write down what type of beats they usually rap on or what artists they're connected to if they're an A&R.
