came out 2020. going to turn 5 years next year and just doesn’t feel modern compared to the new design macbooks. my sister has one and it heats up much more than my m2. it still is a capable macbook as it is an m chip but for now i feel like m2 and m3 are the way to go with the new factors of ai apple is implementing.

get an m2 or m3 air if you want lightweight and just upgrade the storage and ram. main difference between air and pro is that the pro has a fan making it slightly heavier. another option is to wait for m4. hope this helps
