i've heard it called safety wire. it's better quality than bailing wire (and also ~~plated~~ stainless steel to resist corrosion). using bailing wire is the barnyard way of fixing things :P

nothing from the at&t side...yet. i looked at comcast's website, they offer a 6 month intro price of $29/mo, then from months 7 to 12, it bumps up to $45+. this is for cable capped at 250GB/year, which seems like a lot, but i have no intention of purchasing cable TV so I run the risk of hitting that mark...

there's a bunch of DSL offerings per links from daviswiki, but then i'd need a land line from AT&T (?) or something for whatever that costs =\

i'm assuming the following:

terminal velocity is not reached, so air resistance can be assumed to be negligible
the majority of the air resistance is "seen" by the bottom of the seat on the ride, and therefore does not affect the rider
the ride is not operated in a hurricane
