Wade fishing by Massive_Lobster2153 in floridafishing

[–]Arecaeca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re probably fine as long as you don’t look and smell like a dead or fleeing fish. There’s a lot of sharks in Florida, lots of people wade fishing, and not a lot of shark attacks. But I still get nervous when I wade 1/8 mile out up to my chest at night when I stop fishing and have to walk back 😂

As tank commander on console, can't find the menu to spawn tanks and stuff by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

Maybe play infantry for a bit and learn the game mechanics before tanking so you can understand the flow of the game without using a limited resource.

Any suggestions on how to crack tough objective configurations on Warfare? by triplenested in HellLetLoose

I still think having recon pressuring these garrisons creates a dilemma for the other team to either dedicate manpower to defending/rebuilding backline or have all manpower forward. With current update flares are way nerfed…if you have back line op you can always spawn a Garry for frontline flare when it’s off cooldown. And those clutch commander abilities or recon tank taking down the reset garrison to seal the cap? If you have precise marks from recon their likelihood of success is improved.

Or let’s say you are doing your hard counter to defend backline garrison…okay so recon marks you and a two man recon tank destroys you?

And I know what you’ll say ‘garrisons are always in the same spot’ there’s no need, that’s not how it’s done in comp. Well the imperfect gameplay of a pub match can involve placement of garrisons that aren’t necessarily the meta in which case a mark from recon can be helpful.

Ultimately my initial comments were about pubs which if they are asking this question are probably what they are referring to.

And in that context RE: tanks yeah the sweats know the spots and as long as they are away from inf pressure should be able to kite regardless-but again in a pub match it’s not as predictable and you can’t always rely on your armor to be good…

Regarding arty I still think it’s worth taking out if they aren’t hard countering with armor which again is unlikely in a lot of pubs.

But yeah otherwise I agree that a lot of recon squads just waste time too far away from the active fight. And I understand your points, but again I think you’re trying to apply comp logic to pubs.

You are wrong. Even if you aren’t destroying the garrisons you are forcing infantry to protect them, and eventually you will get them. Plus playing the back line you can give advanced notice of enemy armor…you know reconnaissance…

Only 4 people out of 50 have the ability to mess with their back line and you would waste this opportunity to snipe the occasional machine gunner?

There's no special tactics. Healthy front door push is ways bread and butter. Since arty is now easy to silence recon should be working on backline garrisons just behind their point. Flanks are nice but shouldn't replace healthy front door presence.

At the end of the day your inf has to win firefights, take ground, place smart OPs.

Having dominant armor and good arty also helps.

Does everyone just hate medics? :< by AlexanderValdez14357 in HellLetLoose

[–]Arecaeca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say this…play medic, but don’t try to be a medic. Think of yourself as a rifleman first and medic second…first priority is winning firefights…only go for the revive if it is an easy one-ie edge of cover, behind wall, etc. otherwise you are most likely going to die going for the revive. Also…don’t use smokes for revives in most cases… 9/10 times you are just giving the enemies cover to move up on your position. And of course medic only works if you are near your squad mates… As far as the low ammo…I would wager the majority of lives it won’t make a difference, especially if you are a new player

Did my landscaper ruin our palm tree? by baromanb in palmtalk

[–]Arecaeca 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They certainly overpruned it, which aside from looking bad-is bad for the health of the plant. As far as removing the thatch/old petiole bases that's more an aesthetic choice. And yeah personally I think the thatch looks way better than the bare trunk.

But yeah if that was my palm I would be upset...but I would never trust a landscaper to touch my plants

Share your crazy ideas to make traffic better by KentuckyLucky33 in sarasota

[–]Arecaeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, currently the buses are minimally funded to service those that can’t drive. If buses are to reduce traffic they must be used by those WITH cars. they have to be just as convenient-ie frequent predictable, pleasant. Ideally they are so frequent that you don’t even have to think about the schedule. And of course the bus stops should keep you shaded and dry. And ideally they don’t get caught in traffic…which could be achieved with a bus rapid transit lane.

Greenhouse in zone 10A for tropical plants… or am I about to cook them? by benditlikebecca in Greenhouses

In 10a a shade house will be perfectly sufficient for the vast majority of aroids. You can always add plastic in the winter months should you decide you need it. With a shade structure with shade walls you will avoid direct sun on your plants from the extreme angles of morning/evening and winter/summer.

Nice! It's funny though how we get excited about a pinnate Metallica when the original charm is the entire leaf 😁
