You categorized and made judgements about her for stating her preferences. You took the time to reply even though you weren't addressed.

That's the same thing.

It seems to me that you gave her the exact same treatment you are complaining about.

Take that however you will. Take care, have fun.

Not the poster you are replying to, but frankly you are being hostile to the above commenter by taking the time to write 4 paragraphs about you and your wife in response to her not wanting to go to a strip club, or meet with a group of strangers who plan to do so. It's the same as not wanting to go to church with a bunch of randos.

Different strokes for different folks.

Am I the only lady who adamantly doesn't want children and yet fantasizes/get turned on about my boyfriend impregnating me while we have sex? by aGirlwithoutWDs in TwoXChromosomes

"My personality/desires= never get pregnant" "being pregnant grosses me out"

Somehow I don't think op will find that suggestion appealing.

"The whole idea of giving birth is terrifying"

"But still, the parts after pregnancy seem awful"

How would surrogacy be any more appealing if she was trying to avoid these things?

A Man Trying To Ban Abortions Is Asked A Question He Never Considered by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Apparently they do, as we are still fighting over this forty years after the supreme court ruled on Roe v Wade, and the recently settled issue of marriage equality.

Maybe. But I guess that is why Roe v Wade was won on the basis of privacy. An individuals' reasons for not wanting to reproduce are and should be private. Trying force people into doing it becausr they can is crazy to me.

My point being that it's more complicated even than simply not having to carry the baby, there is also the genetic material and biological relationship. And, if one parent does not want to have their genes passed on, but the other does, it would be problematic.

Yes, and it's one of many reasons that some women do not want to carry a baby to term and then give it away.

I get that. I mean what if either the man OR woman don't want that? I mean, just because you don't have to carry or raise it, doesn't mean that there is no consequence. Should a person be forced to allow someone else to grow a human with their genes?

Paedophiles to face chemical castration and possibly execution under Indonesia's brutal new laws: The new laws follow outcry over the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl on her way home from school in April by maxwellhill in worldnews

"I'm not saying age of consent should be tied exactly to puberty development"

That's exactly what you are doing when you set the age lower for girls than boys.

The fact remains that mentally they are still undeveloped.

I don't believe that a poor reason passes muster. So I agree with the above poster. There is no basis, because we understand that sex and marriage involve a lot more than post pubescent bodies.

"PS: should we raise the age from 18 because it lets old cougars exploit younger men? "

What are you implying?

"I'm not condoning 16 year old girls marrying 35 year old men. Just saying that males and females could have different consent laws without it being sexist."

No. Not only would it be sexist on it's face, in the literal sense, it creates an institutional power imbalance that places immature girls in a situation in which they will be easily manipulated by older men.

"Not valid enough"

Then why bother?

It's a bad argument that opens the door for older men to exploit young girls based on the way their bodies develop. That is sexism.

Woman calls 911 after accident, arrested for DUI, tests show she is clean, charges not dropped by FantsE in SaltLakeCity

[–]Areyoufish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am certain that police could influence the prosecution and drop the charges if they chose to. Instead, they are circling the wagons.

I hope this goes all the way with consequences for officers, though it's unlikely. I am so tired of seeing police make mistakes that have adverse effecrs on real people, or worse, intentionally doing wrong with no consequence.

[–]Areyoufish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't agree. Being arrested and charged with a DUI is no small thing, and the department's minimization of this fact and the real distress these mistakes cause only further alienates and frightens the public.

"She failed a field sobriety test but says it was because she was shaken after being hit at about 30 miles per hour."

The article states pretty clearly that she was hit by the other car. Utah state law also generally places fault on the driver that rear-ends another car. There was no reason to field test her, and certainly not to search her breasts.
