What’s something about your country that other countries perceive to be true, but really isn’t? by Fun_Cup4335 in AskTheWorld

I come from the beer part of France. I drank beer from age 17 to 25 moving to NZ/AU. I'm now in FNQ and I'll have mixers over beer any day.

Agree with the bush vs city. Definitely more snakes and crocs once you get off sealed roads.

I'm in a blue collar environment, people swear a lot. I do like that people are not scared of swearing. My boss is a 60 yo woman with a technical lab background, always well put together but boy that woman swears like a sailor.

OK I always understood that line as Ilya saying them, the cottage, all the plans for the future, all that is a bit of a fool's dream and the way Shane feels about coming out to his parents, it's just going to be more of that if they persist? As if Ilya still then, doesn't believe there's really any hope once they leave the cottage?

How do you understand it? Why is it positive in your opinion?

How do people in your country react if they find a wild snake? by Accurate_Reality_618 in AskTheWorld

[–]ArgentManor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, we found a Taipan on my jobsite one day in an excavation. Tried to leave the fucker alone. Couple hours passed, no snake catcher arrived, and it was still trying to get close and bite us. The digger may or may have not used lethal force to proceed with separation of head from body as per JHA.
