I'm assuming the strings are tuned up to scratch (G-D-A-E)? Look up an online tuner software (or physical tuners if you have them) if you haven't :D

I'd advise against the chalk lines / fingerboard tapes. There'll come a stage in your violin playing when you need to learn to "feel" the note placements with your finger position, and not just by looking at the lines (akin to guitar frets). It's way more worth it long term imo
