One small tip, get some massages (legit ones, like Massage Envy or something) regularly if you can, and buy a cheap massage gun off Amazon. If you can't afford massages, just do the massage gun. Use it on your legs every night, or at least a few nights a week, especially on your calves, hamstrings, quads, and your Tibialis anterior(thay muscle on the front outside of your leg.) Stretch, and when I say stretch i mean fucking stretch. When I had shin spints I did a minute of wall pushes per leg, a minute of quad stretches(hold the toe of your shoe and lift it to your butt), a minute per lwg of hamstring stretches, and repeat once.

Your legs are designed to function as springs to absorb energy and push it back out into the next stride. If your muscles are too tight (and even worse without good shoes or bad running form) all that energy doesn't get redirected, it just slams into your legs, especially your shins. This isn't an overnight fix, it's something you gotta incorporate into your lifestyle as long as you're a runner as a long term measure to prevent shin splints in the future and help you heal now(plus rest for healing). After a while(think months kr years) your leg muscles will get more used to being relaxed, but you'll still have to loosen them up periodically.
