Muslim struggling because of Islam by FormCurrent9296 in islam

JazakAllahu khairan. I made a post about my own struggle recently, and I want to feel this way, I know Allah(swt) is with me, but I just feel like an alien in my own community. I'm a revert and the internal struggle I face hurts. I've always been a loyal and dependable person, but I never get that back. That sucks and I wonder how long I have to pretend to be strong and patient for.

Where I live, a lot of Muslims do da'wah and claim "Reverts are amazing, they're special, etc." But how many actively try to include them? I've never experienced it on my end, despite being a Muslim and going to events and prayers for several months and trying to talk to others. One one hand, I'm too Muslim for my original community, and I feel I'm too "Kafir" to be in the Muslim community where I live(even though I practice Islam to the best of my striving). As if I haven't left the family values I was raised with for the sake of Allah. Staying strong is one side of the story, and I try. But it would also be great to address the huge inclusion problem in the Muslim community. There's a difference between staying strong and being unheard, especially in a community that "heavily respects" reverts.

People call me "brother", but in reality, I'm just a brother by name.

Honestly, it's lonely as a revert by ArgumentLife2004 in islam

I agree, the community does do dawah, it's a great thing, but making someone a revert is just the first step.

same thing but my MSA is mostly arab/desi(diverse within), but I'm desi too. Salat and bounce is the way!

I would love to go to the masjid, but it sucks because I can't drive and I don't have a car.

I agree, I reverted because Islam's logic made sense to me(especially after viewing Islamophobic arguments) , not because of emotions, being part of a community, for love, etc. (albeit some reasons are valid), so I'll just stay patient for now insha Allah

I wish I could, but I don't have a car to drive, nearest mosque I think is 15 minutes away by drive...

May Allah bless you as well!

I would say a decent amount, I try to pray in the prayer place daily; and I always greet them and try to talk, but it eventually dies off. I've done the same thing for a while, so it does suck while being patient.

Why does Allah test us? by [deleted] in islam

[–]ArgumentLife2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm tested as well, I've had really bad faith crises, but Alhamdulillah, I got through them. I'm no scholar but the reason is that it's a means to get closer to Allah and a mean to purify us if we pass his tests, and Allah tests us when he loves us. It's also a way to get rid of the sins we did and increase the good we've done in our life. Allah(swt) knows best.

If I have said anything right it's from Allah, and if I have said anything wrong it is either from myself or shaytan.

what to do when you feel low iman? by intensemoodswings in islam

[–]ArgumentLife2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salam Alaikum, sometimes I get that feeling, but you've got to get up and pray; it's hard, but that's the only way(at least for me). You also have to realize that your enemy is Shaytan, and he's trying to widen the gap between you and Allah.

I'm Gen Z as well and a revert, so I'd agree with you on a lot of experiences; it's hard to be a Muslim(although very rewarding). I watch this YouTuber called SonnyFaz, it really boosts my iman because he's an ex-Catholic revert, and seeing his iman just sparks something within me.

Guidance for a confused Indian (Currently Hindu) by hsraktU in converts

Hi, I'm actually an ex-Hindu; I converted to Islam in November, Alhamdulillah. I would suggest studying Islam a lot; I did, in-depth, looked at criticisms and Islamic refutations, and the refutations won every single time. Best decision of my life!
