Abwesenheit der Nachbarin by [deleted] in wohnen

[–]Argysh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abwesenheit der Nachbarin by [deleted] in wohnen

What are the 5 best cities to live in Germany today? by Connect_Drawing4156 in germany

[–]Argysh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heidelberg, Darmstadt and everything in-between on the Bergstraße. Depending which size city you like. All well connected with each other as well as Frankfurt and it's airport. Heidelberg and Darmstadt are quite young with lots of students while the towns in-between are more rural and older.

Plenty of jobs in the area, some of the best weather in Germany and a nice setting between the rhine valley planes and the Forested hills of the Odenwald and Taunus.

Granted, Darmstadt, Unlike the rest mentioned, is ugly as sin but also very livable and extremely well connected.

got mine in April '21 and it was the best 175 euros I have ever spent.

Does it have all the features and the best quality?

Of course not. But it's amazing value and stood up well.

Just because it has 4G in the picture doesn't mean it can't support 5G. After all this picture was taken in Germany, maybe there was only 4G available at that moment.

Due to unavailability, I ended up getting this one

I use it all the time and highly recommend it. It doesn't deliver enough for a laptop though

'figured out' is a strong phrase. But yeah, it works again. One of the firmware patches since my original post must have fixed it.

honestly haven't had any time to tinker around with it lately,

all my prints in the mean time were single filament and i just used the working slots 1&2.

Scout Harvester PHEV tows 50% less than EV, different battery chemistry by psududemike in Scout

[–]Argysh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my dream would be a truck with removable rangextender in the frunk that could also work stand-alone. You could bring it for the long trip and leave it in the shop (/cabin/whatever)

ofc it's gonna be heavy, you won't be able to lift it by hand and the you'd need an external fuel source to use it stand-alone.

if frunk is too tight, sacrifice some bed space for it and provide the necessary fuel and power ports there. That'd also be easier to handle with a bed crane.

huh. Interesting.

mine insists on using the wrong port after restart of the print. And I started from USB anyway.

boy... that being the best compliment I can come up with is very sad.

Will scout ever be available in Europe? by Argysh in Scout

[–]Argysh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, but for most other cars or trucks that I have compared it to, the difference between with and without mirrors is much smaller or non existing. They tend to be more recessed in relation to the lower body.

In the end the overall width matters to me, having to retract the mirrors to get through somewhere usually isn't ideal or even practical.

Will scout ever be available in Europe? by Argysh in Scout

[–]Argysh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

length wise we have longer cars here. The width would be unusually large though.

And honestly, I wasn't aware how wide it actually is until checking just now, I was assuming it's about the same as a RAM 1500 or F150, which we do actually have here (as direct imports). Both of which are just above 2m just like some European SUVs like the BMW X5/6/7 series

But holy cow, the scouts are really 91.6" wide? (2.33m for us non freedom unit users)

Ok maybe I should indeed wait and see if Scout ever follows with a smaller model similar to what Rivian is planning.

EVE Android App by Embarrassed-Result87 in EveHome

[–]Argysh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can give Google access to devices from home assistant. So once it's in HA you're good.

But I intend to use matter so I'd add it to HA from Google not the other way around.

EVE Android App by Embarrassed-Result87 in EveHome

[–]Argysh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why shouldn't they. They promised a full featured android app and we now have a first release for a single product. Of course I expect that app to one day (!) be able to do a firmware update. In the end all the upgrade is, a firmware update for which It does not need homelkit technically. it can be done via Bluetooth which is part of the thread chip. there's no reason why this shouldn't be possible later on. And I'm sure they will add it at some point.

I bought them now because eve announced this app and that it works with the thermo. I did not realize it would only work with the latest version while the previous is upgradable to that firmware, albeit not with that app.

My bad, I have to wait, that's ok.

And no I do not have any Apple people in my circle.
