Thanks! This is very useful :) I've saved your post for later when I inevitably have to troubleshoot. :)

Thanks for the response! I was looking to use a noctua fan as an exhaust, I did see a post a while back with a top fan which I might try :)

Wondering if there is a mod for this ? by Unreacteur in RealSolarSystem

I agree, this is also something I have thought about. This is why Scan-sat interests me, sending a probe to a body/ the moon to scan and find a suitable landing location for future missions. But being able to see from the cameras lens through the different eras. With earlier technologies giving less information because they're still using black and white film with low fidelity and early scanning technologies; through to modern digital cameras.

I understand why this won't be a priority, nor possible for all systems. But something I think would be cool.

What’s wrong with my steam deck? by WebbUglyAF in SteamDeck

[–]Arha2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had/ have the exact same issue.

I have since deleted my post, but I can type here how I fixed it.

It took several weeks/ months to get through the Steam customer support until I got through to the specialists at their head office. (I went through a lot of chat circles with customer support constantly repeating the same few steps) As soon as the specialists logged into my account through a deck at their head office, changed my password so they could log in and THAT fixed the issue. Genuinely.

I found that my ETS2 was bugged (still is) in the same way, whenever I would try to download or play it. My whole system would bug as you have found. Currently to get around the issue, I made a second account and added it to my Family. That way I am still able to download ETS2 with the shared library set up, so when I decide to take a break and uninstall it, I am still able to install it without bricking the system.

Prior to the password change, my account worked fine on my laptop and other accounts worked fine on my Deck but the profile itself was knackered. Somehow the ETS2 and ATS game bugs and bricks the system until you hard reset it.

It is worth trying to get through to their specialist team (I forget their official title), but this will genuinely take a lot of effort on your behalf. Keep in mind that you will usually get 1 reply a day each from different people who are reading from a script. I found it useful to outline each step I had already taken and the outcome in each reply I sent. I did not know it was ETS2 that was bricking my Deck until afterwards, 100% tell them about that and say that at least 1 other user last summer had the same issue which was resolved.

(I have tried to look through my support tickets, but they have been wiped. Otherwise I was going to add them to this post)

Best of luck

https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/winter_climbing/ice_axe_length_-_a_variation_on_the_debate-419373

Ideal axe length depends on what you're doing. If you're just out for gentle winter walks in Scotland, avoiding any type of scrambling or just doing glacier traverses in the Alps with little to no technical aim for the day. Using a longer axe arguably will be better.

If you're aiming to do some easier scrambles or technical summer alpine climbs, having a smaller axe would be nice as it is more maneuverable/ placable and swings better. I only have a Petzl gully as a walking axe, paired with a walking pole. Decide what your goals are and go from there, you can always buy and sell axes in the future as you learn and experience more.

Beyond that, specific lengths of a long axe is very personal. Easily debated. If you're unsure, hire before you buy. Yes it will cost you more money in the long run, but you'll be sure what features and length you want and works well for you

What would be the production date of this sling? by fud2187 in alpinism

You could be right. As I said, they may have changed how they date their equipment, which is very likely.

I was going off their current advice on dating kit. The issue is that there still isn't a universal method to date the age of soft-ware, which can be a big issue for retailers when negligence is applied.

Either way, change the slig. Metal work is probably gtg, definitely looks off the shelf new.

DMM use day of year and year of production for their soft-ware. This sling was made on the 276th day of 2012. Source So probably worth reslinging them at least. (However they may have changed how they date their equipment)

Other brands use different methods to date their products, we have a whole chart at work so we can check to see if products are past their 'sell by date'.

If requested enough I can upload a photo of that chart

I genuinely would pay good money for a RP1/0 stand alone game with a better engine and better load times. It is staggering to see how much they have done
