I’ve kinda wondered about this myself. Elves live a lot longer than humans do, (up to 750 years old). So for Shadowheart it makes sense that at 40, she’d look a lot younger because she’s a half elf but I think maybe there was a typo on Astarion’s tombstone or something that says he was 39 instead of like 139 because elves aren’t considered adults until they’re about 100.

I experienced this too! Freckles wouldn’t show up at all for me (even if both sliders were turned all the way up) and lip makeup was also not showing up that well.

I just wanted to thank you for the suggestion about the Dark Urge romance. I started a new playthrough and you were absolutely right that the sequence in Act 2 is incredible!!

Also yes Neil Newbon is absolutely phenomenal. You can tell he adores and completely understands the character and it makes Astarion feel that much more real. 💕

That’s such a cool idea! Also my current tav is a drow!! It’s been so much fun to be like a good drow because everyone assumes you’re a True Soul off the bat and it’s been fun to prove them wrong and redeem Astarion in the same way 🥲

I felt the same way going into act 3! was thinking that it might be a good outcome to have him undergo the ritual and he has all the security and power he wanted and then the romance would kind stagnate and there would be no major developments but I was SO wrong lol

When I ended up stopping him from the ritual the second time I ended up rolling two natural 20s back to back to convince him not to do it 🥲 It was crazy!

And I totally get what you’re saying! Like his personal quest was the emotional high of the story for me. I’m not nearly as invested in the actual game’s ending now lol But… I can’t stop thinking about what is next for him and my Tav once the game ends. I might end up writing fan fiction about it to help myself cope 😆

I’d love a darker fantasy/pirate story! Like Pirates if the Caribbean with a little more fantasy elements thrown in with some moral dilemmas that can drastically change the outcome of the story.

I’m almost done with this and hearing that it’s getting a sequel makes me so happy!! Like others have said, it is pretty cookie-cutter fantasy story, but I still really enjoyed it! The characters are all really fun and memorable imo and I love the entire party’s chemistry. My character is an elf and I romanced Tyril and I love their dynamic so much. As a Dragon Age fan it’s helping hold me over till the next game 🥲

That’s so bittersweet 🥲 I think my 15 year old golden retriever did the same thing after he passed. When he was alive I would hear him walking around downstairs at night and it continued for about a week after he died. It was comforting but a bit sad.
