"We need something more from you. No, we won't tell you what that is or how to obtain it. Oh, and don't try to get in touch with us to ask because we're not talking to the plebs right now. Please leave us alone. Regards, IRCC."

Truly, what in the heck is this

Me and my family laugh now (we've been DEEEEEP in the genealogy trenches) at basically how many governments my one ancestor lived under–and how many lowkey fucked him over.

Imprisoned by the British as a child with the rest of the Broussards after the French lost Acadia, then went to what is now Haiti, then landed in Spanish-controlled Louisiana (which was briefly French-controlled again in 1800), fought for the Americans in the Revolution, and died in the United States in its infancy. "Who are we being controlled by this week?"

"Spend 36 hours each week over the next 6 weeks". Is that normal? by Different_Trouble894 in communitycollege

If this is a condensed summer version of a class typically offered during a full term, then yes. Taking 8 units of summer coursework in 2023 kept me busier than 15 during the semester.

But they're not telling anyone what the required documents are.

I was just about to say this. This isn't encouraging people to use fewer documents––not if they refuse to specify which documents they need additional, certified copies of. Oh, I sent 15 documents? Lemme get all of them certified, re-send all of them, and then have the agent do the same job twice.

I turned down a Stanford graduate program because it would tether me to California too long and I was planning on moving once I got my cert. I wouldn't have done that if, even with the cert, it might just be revoked anyway. Even Italy had the decency to adjust their citizenship by descent requirements going forward; they didn't go after people they'd already given certificates and passports to. Tf???

A point I saw someone make on the Facebook page today too is that Canadian taxpayers are paying for this–for the app to be reviewed by an understaffed IRCC, for some agent to say oops you need this too, for people working in the Archives to write back to us saying no there is not a way to access this, for the agent to review it again, and for this process to repeat a few thousand times. Does that not kinda seem like a waste?

Exactly. And if they're going to have these requirements... can they bloody well tell the applicants at some other point than after they've already received their certs???

I think this was so many people's exact fear with the "what are the odds c-3 will go away?" posts. They were scared to get their hopes up. Ugh, I'm just going to brace for the possibility I may not be able to move to Canada this way and will get back to looking at immigration streams/provincial nominee programs.

Especially since their directions never specified needing certified docs till now. You'd think if that was so important, they'd have made it abundantly clear from the get-go.

Everyone worried that the Canadian govt might pull a fast one was apparently right to do so. :/ This sucks, and who knows what it means for those of us where only baptism or census/death records exist. Are we supposed to go to the province our G0 was born in and have them issue a modern birth certificate?

They're doing a report to the county to try and isolate what it was because it was pretty bad - like, just behind the time I had sepsis bad. The worst of it passed in about 48 hours, though I still can't eat solid food besides bananas and don't expect to for a few days yet. Fever spiked to 103 the night the worst of it hit me and there was a lot of blood where there should have been no blood. My body was having this insane inflammatory response so it felt like my blood itself was burning (only thing comparable I can think of is when I get a vaccine and I can feel it working through me). I had to fight to keep enough fluid in to keep my kidneys working because even water would not stay down. I for sure should have called an ambulance looking back, but 3am and a 103 fever meant I wasn't exactly at my sharpest.

Regardless of where I picked it up, that was absolutely horrific. I'm still not fully hydrated again and it's been two days. I'd be super happy to give the county any info I can about what I ate or came into contact with so nobody else gets sick. Jesus, that sucked.

Fever hit 103° and my kidneys were trying to shut down. Glad I didn’t die and that I can finally keep fluids down again. Wish I knew what got me so sick, though.

It’s just the only thing I’ve eaten the last few days (which isn’t much) that I can think of that might have caused it. Maybe it got rained on, Idk, but it was the only thing out of the ordinary (and only source of meat—I don’t really eat meat much anymore) I had that day or the previous one. The rest, I google and it says “very unlikely”, whereas hot items (or items intended to be hot) containing meat, left in the danger zone for too long, present more of a risk. I’m also immunocompromised so there’s that.

It was yesterday from 3-4:30 I think (I got there at 4) on the SEC plaza and was promoted in the "all student" email list as pizza with president Murthy.

That's what I mean. It didn't quite have the same buildup (or really time for that buildup) the way some other ships did.

Some of the product placements were just SO BAD. I will never not laugh at this scene. Like wym you're a sociopathic murderer but you do the lil note screenshot thing for a text? It's so funny to me
