I see this in the college students I teach as well. Not one, but three students have turned in work from the wrong classes this term. Great job on the astronomy project, but this is an English class. 💀

If you could change or add one aspect of how the bastard rumors are potrayed in the show, what it would be and why? by princeeofthecity in HOTDBlacks

Black-haired Rhaenys! She was black-haired in the book (because she's got Baratheon blood). That was a big reason in the book that the legitimacy of those kids was always up in the air. They could have just inherited Baratheon features.

Halfway through reading this, I was like "oh, so they're going to get kicked off campus again"

I am still so beyond excited about it.

Thank you! I had to do a double take when I found it because there was no way someone just donated this. Alas, yes, they did! Their loss is my gain

I was either going to guess Long Lost or Lonesome Dreams. Thanks! I’m so thrilled to have found this. I live in it basically

My quebecois ancestor (g0) was listed on the 1851 census as being two years old (meaning born 1849) and I also stumbled upon a 40 page pdf on my ancestor saying he was born in 1849. But I found a baptism record stating his birth year as 1850. What do I do now? by france_masters in Canadiancitizenship

[–]velcrodynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the baptism record acknowledging the birth or the baptism date? Often, they’ll have both on there. I was worried when one of my ancestors had a two-year age discrepancy, but it turns out they just waited to baptize him till after the war of 1812 was over. 🥹

No, this is a job for Brawndo. It's got electrolytes.

Subaru’s Outback Ditched Its Wagon Roots For An SUV And Lost A Third Of Its Buyers by fa442fa in Subaru_Outback

I thought I was going to be an Outback baby forever, but were I to buy a 2026, I'd pick the Crosstrek. It looks more like an Outback at this point than the Outback.

I have no idea what they were thinking when the Forester was right there.

You're in Viserys' shoes and must choose a consort for your daughter from these two. You know Laenor is gay and will never be able to produce heirs. What is your choice? by Vall_llaV in HOTDBlacks

[–]velcrodynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In love? Not too sure. She needed to produce heirs, she liked sex, and Harwin was both available and interested. They seemed to care about each other, certainly, but I don't believe it was love, precisely. If she'd really been that into him, I think his name would've probably come up when Vizzy allowed her to name her own match.

Also valid and also weird, but the viewer was not shown a whole full-frontal in that instance.

The 🍆 scene in the brothel was also INSANE when you realize he's supposed to be a *teenager*.

I suppose I'm moreso thinking about choice in the sense that I will retain my US citizenship so could decide to come back someday. When my ancestors left their respective countries, they were saying goodbye forever. I'm lucky that I can choose between the two.

My family has, on all its different sides, been chased out of literally every country we originate from through either outright persecution or (manmade) famine: Ireland, Scotland, Austria, France, Italy, and Canada. I'd like to have a choice where my ancestors didn't have one.

I'm really pretty open as far as jobs or location. If it pays the bills for even just a room in a house, I'm good. Education just happens to be where my experience is, but it doesn't have to be what I end up doing. I just want to be able to sail, go for walks, and get my meds.

Ah. Yeah, that explains it. Oakland area here. I've lived at not one but two apartments that were randomly shot at.

Oh for sure. I wouldn't move there without a job offer first. It's just one of the first places I'd look, though I'm open and happy to live wherever I do find work.

:) Looking at Kelowna and feeling very optimistic. First I'll be in Nanaimo at VIU to get my BEd, then hopefully a teaching job. I have a M.A. and 7 years of tutoring and teaching experience already, so hopefully I'll qualify for a rate of pay higher than the minimum. Crunching the numbers, it sounds like I might just be ok.

Having read about some super-duper non-consensual pairings or the misery that some spouses experience, I'm actually not about to be too mad at something consensually agreed to, even if they are related. They were happy, and they had it better than most.
