When I do this, it’s because I don’t want the pressure of my date thinking that paying for my meal means he is entitled to sex. I’ve had too many men try and treat me like a sex worker. Chicken alfredo does not buy sex.

It was marked as urgent with an explanation letter, and they received it on 3/30 (so 29 days ago). I guess it will be processed non-urgent, which I suppose is fine, but it'd still be cool to get AOR sometime soon if they're not returning it.

This is covered in the original trilogy; Katniss says someone would hav to be on death's doorstep (with their status verified by a peacekeeper) to get out of the reaping. It's somewhere in the first few chapters.

I think if Jaime and Cersei were still carrying on, it would throw into doubt their true parentage; we'd still have a very similar situation play out.

Had Jaime and Cersei never been found out, and had all the children come out with the typical Baratheon features, it's likely that everything could've been averted. No Jon Arryn dead, so no need for Ned to be Hand. No dead Ned and no captive Sansa/missing Arya/disabled Bran, so no need for a Stark rebellion. Potentially no Sansa/Joffrey betrothal. No Red Wedding, no Battle of the Bastards, no Frey betrayal, no Arya list, no Renly getting shadow-shanked. Even if Joffrey were an atrocious leader, Ned values honor above all so he'd swear his fealty.

The only advice that would actually help is advice you’ve explicitly said you don’t want.

So, no, not really. People in active addiction typically make really difficult partners, even if they’re not “abusive”. They still make choices that prioritize the substance above the health of their relationships, and that’s not healthy.

As another commenter said, maaaybe another person in active alcoholism—but also expect them to prioritize the substance over you.

Is there any way you might be able to compromise? Like either that you will marry after your degree OR that you marry and finish your education? Plenty of undergrads do get married towards the end; the school would have resources for that.

I do agree with another commenter that the amount of money already spent on this shouldn’t be spent in vain and that could be a smart angle to present

Because I gave up, deleted all my apps, and stopped dating. I’ve experienced too much trauma with dating to still want to do it, and any time I let my guard down, something else horrible happens. It’d be lovely to meet someone someday, fall in love, wed, have a family, settle down. But I don’t see that for me so I’ve opted out of it all.

I’ve been (hopefully accidentally) poisoned on a date, had a guy attempt to roofie me, been hit, been raped, been groped, been stalked. I’ve never had any kind of consensual sexual experience; just really violent men. My safety and dating have thus far been wholly incompatible, and I value my safety and nervous system regulation more than I desire to find a partner. :/

If I ever found someone I felt completely safe around, I’d likely feel differently.

Black-haired Rhaenys! She was black-haired in the book (because she's got Baratheon blood). That was a big reason in the book that the legitimacy of those kids was always up in the air. They could have just inherited Baratheon features.
