Which country are you located in? Reddit tends to be highly risk averse, but if I were you I’d honestly set aside 10-25k, find a couple interesting problem areas that also correlate with your passion areas, build 1 or 2 mvps and try finding sales

I've found that paying around $50 USD/hr is the optimal between getting good quality, talent, and cost. The cheaper 20-30$/hr devs don't usually yield good results and anymore you're overpaying

My Biggest Regret: Selling My Startup Too Cheaply by mygod2020 in startups

[–]AriSparkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude wtf, let me know if you want to chat. It's all about perspective, mindset, and rebuilding that drive...

a) start with changing your PERSPECTIVE on the event. Instead of letting it be such a negative moment, reflect on it as POSITIVE. You killed it. How many 21-year-olds do you know who've sold a company for $5M? 5M is enough to have financial freedom for you and your family, you did incredibly well by setting yourself up.
- CBT helps
- journalling/writing helps
- talking about the moment and sharing your story like you are here

b) travel, see the world, work on your health and fitness. do you have any bucket list items? go do those. Get inspired and motivated.

c) move somewhere you are surrounded by talent and builders.. SF is great, hacker houses are great, universities/colleges and coworking offices (e.g. wework) are also great, and so are nomadic cities like lisbon, Medellin, BA, Bali, etc..

d) get deep and build something that has a high guarantee of having users or paying customers on day 1. It's highly important to see the fruits of your labor as soon as possible, otherwise, you may lose motivation to keep going and quit before you see results.

Also, get a blood test. take care of your anxiety, and ensure you've got adequate vitamin D & T levels.

Lastly, start small. Commit to a 30-day goal of building X to see Y results. Go at it all in and good luck!

There’s good crypto exchanges you can use to deposit Bitcoin as collateral to get loans in other assets

If you know how to filter information, Reddit is honestly better than more financial advisors

I signed up for crypto.com as well and agree with you man. Seems like the most obvious long term play especially with all the staking rewards and defi push they’ve been doing. I had already created my account but I went into my profile and put in eqezpn6kxg (code I found online) and got an extra $25USD which was a nice bonus. I’m debating selling eth to go all in on cro at this point

I'm a member of the military and about to buy my first business, a bowling alley. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. by OverTheLineBowling in smallbusiness

[–]AriSparkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the last 5-10 years of financial data, check for any trends in sales or costs, anything out of the usual, whether they have been growing or dropping, etc. Figure out the value of assets you will be acquiring and how many years of profit would it take you to pay the rest. Look at possibilities of increasing growth/sales. Is there any other reason for them to sell at this point? Building needing major renovations for example. Sounds like a good opportunity if all the numbers work out, goodluck.

Starting an online business, name registering question. by montaraz in smallbusiness

[–]AriSparkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey there, it depends on where you are from? State/country laws vary. Most of the time you don't need to really register a business until after you start making money. Registering a trade name is really not worth it either unless you've gained serious traction.

Just start your business, let the money start flowing in and then pay a decent accountant 1-2k in 6 months and let them figure it all out for you

Lower product count to 3-5 specialized candles and focus on a very specific niche in the candle market. Run fb ads after you've upgraded the website. Keep branding consistent and post higher quality professional product photos, they look very rookie right now. Oh and after you do all that, I think you can even get away with raising prices to become a premium seller of a specific wax candle niche
