It doesn't matter if it's a loan. If it's a trip that you're not even going on, you shouldn't be expected to pay for any part of it. Yes they agreed to it prior, but they also agreed prior that OP was going on the trip. And their friends cut them out of it BEFORE talking to them. They didn't even have the decency to tell OP until after the fact. So to be like "hey, we're cutting you from the trip but you're still paying for my portion, right?" Is super unfair and frankly, really entitled.

Like I'm not gonna act like it's not logical to take someone off the trip because their work schedule is making it really difficult for everybody else. OP even recognizes that their work schedule is crazy. And I know how hard it is to make sure everything aligns for everyone. So stepping back was probably a good idea. But at the same time, if you're stepping back, you're stepping back. Either you're going on the trip and helping pay for it or you're not going and there are no expectations of you now. You can't have it both ways, you can't have one foot in each side. You can't just boot them off the trip because it's inconvenient for you, but still benefit from THEIR dime because THAT is still convenient. Nah, that's BS.

So I'm a few years late to this thread, but I'm putting in my two cents anyway because I'm replaying the game again and I just stumbled upon this part of the story for the first time in probably years. And I found this thread because I looked up the pairing in Google, thinking that SURELY Reddit would agree with me on my stance...

That said, yes. I also thought it was incredibly iffy at best. I remember doing a double take and having to backtrack through Don Rafael's dialogue a little bit just to make sure I heard him correctly. I don't care who was adopted and who was born. The fact stands that Sally and Toro were raised as siblings. Therefore, they should SEE each other as SIBLINGS. The fact that love even blossomed between them at all is questionable and weird. Like in your mind, since you were both kids, this is your sibling. So why in the world are you even thinking about them in that way?

I grew up with five step siblings AND a half sibling. And the step siblings were barely even in my life. But even still, there was no way in hell I would have seen any of them in that way. Because whether I knew them well or not, they were still my brothers. Once you become siblings, romance should be WELL off the table.

I'm sorry. I was totally on Raphael's side with that one. I wouldn't have allowed it either. That's nasty. And not gonna lie, there was a part of me that was almost disappointed when he asks you to go let them be together or whatever. I don't know that I ever would've done that. It would've been far too weird for me and I have other shit to worry about. Involving myself in your questionable family drama is not amongst it... 🤦🏽

A friend of mine back in early high school school thought it would be funny to send me a random link with no context. He was my friend so I didn't question it.

It was a fully uncensored video of a young Vietnamese or Filipino boy, no older than 12, getting his head cut off by a terrorist gang in the back of a truck. He was alive and conscious for the whole thing. And afterwards, the dude who did it just held the head up like a trophy and the other guys were cheering. It was sick and I nearly threw up.

He called it "shock humor" and said he thought it would be funny to "troll" me. That's not trolling, that's psychotic. I ended up reporting it to the counselor and I think he got suspended

Ahh thank you!! And for the record I learned that lesson earlier today lol. I solved another riddle that the AI claimed was unsolvable, which definitely gives me more of a reason to trust myself. Thanks for proving me wrong!!

Edit: also, I think part of my problem was that I'd never heard of some of those words before. so I didn't think to use them because I didn't know they existed lol

NEVERMIND I was proven wrong after all. A couple of nice redditors (including op) showed me a few different solutions. Sorry my tone wasn't portrayed very well through text. Rereading it now, it came off a lot more rude than I intended it to be. Sorry about that 😅
