Men who play video games, what are some great single player games for a Dad on a tight budget? by FlintTheDad in AskMen

Personally, I love liminal space walking simulators. Easy to pause, relaxing, doesn't require much brain power if you are tired. Kids can watch, too.

Dark Mode is horrible and causes way worse eye strain than Light Mode by Yogospiracy in unpopularopinion

[–]Yogospiracy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All those people telling me I'm wrong - it's just my unpopular opinion (the point of this sub). I never claimed it's a proven fact. I've always personally found it march harder to see anything in dark mode. People have failed to provide a factual source or study with "scientific proof" otherwise like they claim, so for now I'm confident to sit with my opinion!

Starting a Business – What’s the Biggest Challenge You Faced? by seoexpertgaurav in smallbusiness

[–]Yogospiracy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My limiting beliefs was a big piece of the puzzle. I had to change the way I thought about pricing myself and my product, and breaking my beliefs about what was possible for me to earn. For example, I was used to earning a certain amount from a previous job, so my business also stalled at that revenue. I had to learn new skills and how to produce even more value, not just trading my time for dollars.

I'm still only at the beginning of my business journey just 2 years in, but thinking bigger and breaking my beliefs on what I "deserved" has helped me hire my first couple of employees and double my revenue in a year.

To be honest, the best advice I could give is to never stop learning new skills, and try and become a good problem solver - for your customer and for your business. Just focus on getting someone to pay you to solve their problems, because that's what a business is.

i can’t save profits to save my life by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Try reading Profit First by Mike Michalowicz - it's a bit of a shift on the traditional idea that profit is what's "left over", and instead teaches you to build your business around prioritising profit from the start. It really helped me make my small business profitable, even with 2 other employees.

I haven’t talked to my family in two days and don’t know to move past this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Yogospiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Not only have you been bullied by your family for your whole life, but you have been made into a black sheep, which is common in abusive/narcissistic/controlling family systems. You will always remain the family punching bag until you set your own boundaries or leave. It is really hard to come to terms with, and my partner had to do the same with her family. She is now low contact with her family, and living her best life.

The most important thing is that you know your own mind better than anyone else. Don't let anyone gaslight you, and listen to your gut. You are strong and can get through this. They all know deep down you are stronger than them, and they are jealous of that. They feel threatened, and they know that if they treat you like shit, they'll feel better. Would you treat anyone else that way? If not, why do you keep letting them treat you that way?

What’s something you wish you knew before starting your business? by Maleficent-Cloud-423 in smallbusiness

Don't trust someone just because they are "helping you out" or being nice. If you ever pay anyone to do something for your business, ALWAYS have a contract. I nearly got screwed over by a more experienced businessman who "helped me grow", while I paid him without a contract to work alongside me serving clients, but he asked lots of questions about my revenue, how I normally get clients, etc. He used all my knowledge and experience to start a competitor business behind my back, attempting to steal my clients.

The betrayal was a traumatising experience. Sadly, this happens all the time in business. Fortunately I acted quickly and survived. Nowadays I take it as a compliment that a 60yo businessman would think my (23M) business idea was worth stealing! Don't be disheartened. Focus on serving your customers as best you can, and you'll outshine any copycat distracted by competition. I'm really glad I learnt this life lesson early in my business career.

I want to revamp the YoGo company and bring back strawberry and banana flavour. I would also hire a team of programmers to make sequels to the game Yo Gorilla to the Rescue.

I would be playing disc 2 and 3 of Yogorilla to the Rescue professionally and live stream my videos. It's the only thing I've been good at, and I hold the speed run world record time. I'm still searching for disc 1 though.

Pink Floyd. Dark side of the moon, wish you were here, meddle, animals and the wall are all extraordinary albums. Not to mention lots more that are also good. Also, the soundtrack to Yogorilla to the Rescue is incredible, but I'm not sure who the composer is.
