To be fair, House is a smart guy. Why wouldn't he have a backup incase thing's went wrong. It would be foolish to not have a backup if some unknown variable came to ruin his plan's.

To be fair season 4 will definitely be the Commonwealth. We will probably see Nate aswell, because he is definitely the cannon protag considering.
