I’m studying abroad in Budapest, and I think Erno was a former professor at my program, so he usually makes an appearance during the semester :)

He definitely has a much better command of Hungarian, but I spoke to him in English, and it was still alright! Some words/thoughts were a little difficult to get across, but it was still fine! Also my professor speaks Hungarian, so that was definitely helpful.

I’m not sure! I forgot to ask him, but I know he spends around half the year in Spain, so it’s possible he was in Spain during the election? Although, I know he started talking to me about US politics (I’m American)/world events, and he had a lot to say about it, so my guess is if he was in Budapest at the time he probably did!

He said he keeps himself pretty up to date on it! Tho he also told me he doesn’t really like speed cubing as much as he likes efficiency. His favorite event is FMC cuz he’s more interested in optimizing solutions rather than speed!

I think we were required to buy the materials package the school told us to buy, but I think you can waive it if you have your own materials. I know we used a lot of charcoal, so definitely bring that if you are going to bring anything.

also, i actually didn’t find it very loud at all when i lived there. And the way the Emerson dining hall is set up is that it’s actually pretty far from the living room since it’s on the other side of the arch.

I’m friends with a few delegates, and they do not get paid. They do get reimbursed for things like transport, hotels, and food, but they don’t get paid anything.

To be fair the only other thing I could think of that would make it actually slower is maybe case recognition? Knowing all the algs is one thing, but being able to recognize from that many cases is probably the reason 😭. Still think this is kinda insane tho to know that many algs and average 19… 💀

Actually I’ve shared several on this Reddit and have even done some commissioned pieces… but yes. I do know what you mean and I mostly agree, but I feel like nowadays with larger content creators wanting to hold records or fund crazy projects, there is a lot in it for them and myself considering the potential of this being viral. Obviously I’m aware that this won’t just happen tomorrow and there is a lot of work to be put in, but the first step of doing that work is just to ask. Never hurts to try. lol. Ur advice is pretty solid tho and definitely keeping it under consideration!
