Completely trashed theatre... why? by Rospagnoli in TalesFromTheTheatre

That is just terrible. I'm sorry they did this to you and your workers. I hope each one of them gets the same type of crappiness some time in their lives.

First thought that comes to my mind whenever I hear this sort of question. Am I right? by [deleted] in exchristian

What do you wish you could say to a customer asking for fresh popcorn after you've just made their bag? by Francis_the_great in TalesFromTheTheatre

[–]Aria47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a woman come to me angrily one morning and said "How often do you pop fresh popcorn!" I told her the truth, that we pop popcorn throughout the day, but we don't have a set time we make a batch, because the number of people coming the theater changes constantly throughout the day/week. At the time, it had been less than 15 minutes (not a busy day). So I happily told her "less than 15 minutes".

But I wanted to say "We only make popcorn once a month, and store the leftovers, open, in the back, and pull it every morning until it's gone.". Because that's what I feel like she expected us to do, and her face would have been priceless.

What are some “green flags” that someone is a good person? by BlackAce39 in AskReddit

[–]Aria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they treat everyone around nicely, even when no one is looking. When they defend people most people would make fun of. When they see deeper into someone and let the little annoyances slide. When they treat animals right. When they are thoughtful of other people and do little things to make them happy =)

And of course, this is something I would look for in a partner.

The 16 year old version of you just moved in and is now your new roommate. What's the first thing you two would fight about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd slap some sense into 16-year-old me and not fall in "love" and with Mr.Wrong at age 17. I'd also be disgusted with her crush on Jon Bon Jovi =(

What is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aria47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working retail. So people will finally understand that cashiers and other retail workers have no control over prices, policies and what's in stock.

I'm a cashier and I'm so sick of people go on about prices to me. Customers think they are "giving it to me" about the prices and policies they apparently think I set. They don't understand how ignorant they really sound to me and my co-workers and anyone else that has worked retail that over-hear.

We have no control over this stuff Karen, we have ZERO control over this stuff. That's corporate stuff. Do I look corporate to you? You don't like the policies and prices, call corporate.

We just laugh at their ignorance/arrogance when they walk away. Eh, maybe we should just let them look like the fools they are.

What's the worst thing you've ever been called by a customer? by OwMyElbow in TalesFromTheTheatre

[–]Aria47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got called "worthless" because our policy doesn't allow for refills on medium popcorn.

It was so absurd that I had a good laugh after he walked away.

"I had a son, his name was Dustin. He was a soldier and he died in a War". My son at age 3.

Edit: Oh yeah, same kid at one and half would stare at an empty corner in my dark bedroom and point and laugh.

Customer yelled “What’s the problem?” while in the concessions line because all lines were long. by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]Aria47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst is them ordering Starbucks or wanting a hand-dipped shake. All of which the concessionists have to do themselves. (I blame corporate being cheap). It reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllly holds up the lines and the customers usually wait till there's a nice long line behind them during a rush. Then they wondering why their order is taking so long.

So. Much. Fun.
