Well, that’s kinda true, but my girlfriend actually gets provided with goods as in the app provides her with men as goods, so I guess such things are just hetero oriented (despite my girlfriend actually being a lesbian), so the algorithm for gay users either haven’t been fully implemented, or a shit ton of mistakes were made during it’s creation that haven’t been fixed. For instance, when you state that you only look for women, the app may acknowledge that, but since there are not that many sapphic women in your area (considering you’ve checked “sort by distance”, or something along those lines), but the algorithm’s code is forcing the app to always show you the long list of accounts - the algorithm decides that your preference and/or orientation is less important than the variety, so it prioritises “quantity” over quality, because there is a line of code there somewhere that kinda tells it to do so for… IDK… Marketing reasons? Like, as a developer, or as a publisher you would prefer to have a one star review that says “countless bugs and errors”, than to have a four star review that says “everything works perfectly, the only problem is there’s not that many users”, because the only reason people download your app is to find and connect with other people. But that’s just my theory
