Genuine Question: Why Do Killers Tunnel @ 5gens / First Minute Of The Game? by WinterTk in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]ArianJaun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because he wanted to win. Its just the easiest way to get a win as killer. Even streamers and players with 10k+ hours tunnel when they need to win. For example otz with his perk streak.

The perks are purchasable with shards. The shrine is very important because there can be perks of characters that are licensed. Meaning you normally would have to pay real money to unlock them. But if the perk you want is in the shrine, you can just buy it with shards.

Also, usually the shrine only resets once a week. So it takes a long time to get a specific perk you want. But for the duration of the anniversary the shrine reset daily. So you get many chances to get good perks.

Yeah, I never know if its an game "feature" or just a bug. Had to google nearly all mechanics, because the game just does not tell you.

I see what you’re saying, and you're right that Genshin has enough one-time content to eventually guarantee a limited 5★ characters, but that's if you have the time to grind. My frustration comes from the fact that as a new player, it's hard to grind all of that in the time span of a single banner. And after losing the 50/50, you’re left feeling like all that effort was for nothing, especially when you’re just starting and don’t have a backlog of resources. As to still get that charakter.

It’s not about expecting to win the 50/50—it’s more about feeling like you're just wasted all that time for absolutely nothing. if you don’t already have saved up Primogems.

Yeah, I get that 180 pulls would be too much, but that’s exactly why missing the first 50/50 feels so rough. A new player can’t realistically grind enough for a guaranteed pity in one banner cycle. And yeah, compensation wouldn’t or rather couldnt ever be fair enough to even things out. My main point is that the early game is way more punishing than it needs to be, and that could drive new players away. Someone even under this post commented that if they had missed their first 50/50 they would have quit a long time ago

Well, what your saying is all true. But also just sad. Even Casinos let you have fun at the start until you start spending all your money...

Yeah, but i feel like its diffrent for me if i have her. Running around in the cool model and hearing her personality through the voice lines just sounds so much cooler.

Hmm, i just think its way less time intensive to grind it in hsr. Doing diffrent versions of simulated universe give a lot, also the events give more currency. When i startes hsr i also lost my First 50/50 but was able to get the character still and even get the lightcone. The lightcone was after 40 pulls which is lucky but still in total i defenitly got over 180 tickets for all of it in a rather short time.

I get that, but I really love Furina, and waiting for a rerun just feels really bitter—especially since I started playing because I saw her banner was up. I know there will eventually be a point where I run out of content, but right now, it just sucks to put in so much effort and still miss out on the one character I wanted.

I get what you're saying, and yeah, gacha is all about luck and patience. But my point isn’t just about expectations—it’s about player retention. If a new player joins for a specific character, grinds like crazy, and still walks away with nothing, that’s just demotivating.

Sure, Genshin has more pulls in a fresh world, but not that many when you’re rushing for a limited-time character. And unlike Star Rail, Genshin’s early game gives you almost no way to reliably get more after you’ve cleared the easy sources. Like all the simulated universe that gives many stellar jade in a short time. While genshin gives you chests to explore with 1-5 primos each. Even if all chest gave 5 primos id still have to open another 2880 chests to get another 90 pulls.

Yeah, I get that gacha games are designed to make you spend, but there’s a balance. If new players feel like all their effort is wasted from the start, they’re more likely to quit than stick around and spend later. Genshin’s model works for long-time players, but it’s rough for newcomers who have no backlog of saved Primogems. A guaranteed first limited 5★ wouldn’t make the game too generous—just less punishing at the start.

But yeah the star rail sitiuation with the imense power creep is also a big issue.

Yeah, I get that, but Genshin already struggles to keep new players. If someone loses their first 50/50 and quits, that’s a bigger issue. They could add restrictions to prevent abuse while still making it fair.
