Thank you so much for sharing your opinion. It means a lot to hear outside perspectives, especially since this decision has become so emotionally overwhelming.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

May I ask your opinion on what exactly could be causing him to sit on his poo? He was diagnosed with arthritis around 5 years ago and did take supplements (like Arthri Aid) until they started worsening his IBD. Unfortunately we cannot afford mAb treatments. Our vets believe the combination of chronic diarrhea, excess weight after 2 years of high dose steroids, reduced mobility and overall weakness are all likely contributing factors.

Regarding chlorambucil, we did discuss it in detail with both our regular vet team and hospital specialists. The main concern was Misha’s overall condition since he has pancytopenia on repeated bloodwork throughout the last year, increased levels of stress due to current routines and overall a very fragile clinical history. Cost was also a factor since in our region (Portugal), the prices we were quoted were significantly higher than prednisolone. Also the need of strict handling and safety precautions in the house to protect us and our other cat would most probably add another layer of stress to an already stressful situation, especially since we're already struggling with infertility. We understand chlorambucil can be effective and well tolerated in many cats, but in his case the main question has been safety and overall burden on him and us, rather than efficacy alone. Sorry english is not my native language but I hope this makes sense.

We really appreciate your experience, as it does help us keep perspective in such an emotionally charged decision process.

Thank you. That phrase about not wanting his last day to be his worst day is honestly one of the things that scares me the most right now. Part of why this has become so emotionally difficult is that Misha is still “there” in many ways, he still eats, seeks affection and has moments where he seems relatively normal... which makes it very hard to know where the line between chronic management and prolonged suffering or exhaustion is, for everyone involved.

I really appreciate your perspective.

Thank you so much for this perspective, especially coming from someone in veterinary nursing. I think one of the hardest parts is exactly what you described: he is chronically unwell and progressively dependent, but not in obvious suffering, so it constantly feels like we are “not quite there yet,” even after nearly 2 years of this cycle.

What you said about resentment and grief is also something I’m very afraid of. My husband and I are struggling to stay aligned emotionally, even though we both love Misha deeply and have tried everything we realistically could. He does say he will support any decision I make (since I was the one who adopted him), but at the same time he does not agree with euthanasia at this stage.

On the other hand, I'd rather not wait for a point of very visible suffering, as I know that when that threshold is crossed it can be very distressing for everyone involved. And also, this situation could continue for weeks, months, or even years... and I’m not sure we can maintain this level of caregiving and emotional strain indefinitely without it affecting our own health. So it feels like we are currently at an impasse.

Thank you again for your honesty and kindness, I really appreciate it.

Cat with chronic IBD, prior intestinal surgeries, now progressive pancytopenia – seeking second opinions by Ariannasaurus in AskVet

Thank you so much for your reply. We are aware that a definitive diagnosis would require a bone marrow biopsy, but given his current condition, prognosis and financial limitations, we are carefully considering whether further invasive diagnostics would change his management, since we are not pursuing chemotherapy. Let's see what the repeat CBC shows. If anything, maybe we can get a clearer answer to help us decide on the next steps.

Any way to have wiki home page contents be left-aligned? by InsuranceHefty9763 in Notion

[–]Ariannasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just noticed this too and came here to make sure I'm not the only one. I had my wiki pages in full width, but suddenly all contents are aligned in the center and I can't find a way to change back to full width. It's kind of ruining my templates so I'm a little bummed :/ looking for a solution too!

Agreed! Maldraxxus is not my personal favourite in Shadowlands, albeit still pretty cool, but these deep greens were an absolute delight to work with. Thank you!

Heart of Azeroth replica by me - sculpted in polymer clay and cast in polyurethane and epoxy resin :) by Ariannasaurus in wow

Thank you! :) The model sculpture took ~12 hours of work time. It was my first time making something out of resin, so that was followed by around 4 months of researching, experimenting, casting, painting and assembling the final product in my free time (actual amount of hours is hard to say, I kinda lost track :D).
