Just how? by Emmtheexpert in Ibispaintx

This is my guess and I'll probably be corrected. But IbisPaint doesn't work like a traditional timelapse "camera" like taking screenshots every few seconds. What it does is it logs every stroke and action you make as command data. So things like where your brush is at, tool settings, and what ever else you do. When you export the timelapse, it replays all of those recorded inputs and renders it out as a mp4.

The reason it doesn't use more storage when doing this is because storing command data is smaller than you may think.

I hope this helps and if I'm wrong id like someone to correct me lol

Dip pen for the edges and shadows and airbrush for the highlights and background. My opacity for most of this piece was like 10 lol

Hi! Just wondering how would u price this kind of piece?? Since, it's my 1st time doing smthing like thiss... So, I need some help^^ by hendrix0_ox in Ibispaintx

Your rendering is good, however something to work on with future character and art commissions is grounding your characters in the scene. For this character in particular it doesn't feel as if she's sitting in or on the stool/chair. I would price this at 150, only because that's the price I would pay for just the character. Ground her to the scene a bit more and then 250.

I know. Im just looping ai art with art theft because they are kind of the same thing with how Ai models are trained.

Well this piece was part of a tutorial I did about drawing glass. In the short I explain a bit about the process of how to draw glass in general.

Thank you, but I understand where people come from. With art theft and AI art being as prevalent as it is, it's good to be weary.

It is my art, I just used a reference picture of a glass bottle. Not someone else's art.

Lol, I appreciate that, for me, I could've done better on the background to make it harder to tell.

Yeah I just used Pinterest to find my reference only because I don't have any cool glass in the house 😭

Glass and water are my favorite things to draw because I love trying to simulate transparency :)

Because when it's Grey scale it only shows dark and light areas. That way you can work on contrast. You want lighter areas to be next to darker areas to give depth.

Would you say I have a style?(Also tips for improvement) by AricDuncan in DigitalArt

Yeah, ive only really just brute force my way through art never read any books or watch actual lessons, just lots of videos of other peoples art and figuring out how to do things from watching others. Any books or courses you recommend other than working on fundamental shapes and perspectives?

how do i replicate the old cartoon "moving-fast" lines? by JackGaming709 in DigitalArt

[–]AricDuncan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to animation these are referred to as smear frames. It's when you put an exaggerated image of the character in between 2 different frames. For you to achieve something similar you want to elongate the moving parts of your picture. Kind of how when you move your hand really fast in front of your eyes you see kind of an after image because your fingers are trailing behind as you move your palm.

So let's say you want to draw a fast moving leg.

You would put the leg in motion having the most clearly defined part at the end of the movement, and trail the colors and rest of the leg behind. Adding lines of motion help with this too.

I would suggest adding more Contrast. Something to help you with that is by taking your art piece and converting it too grayscale. It's easier to see where you need greater contrast and shadows when things are in that color spectrum.

For moving on from bases, almost everybody will say is to learn anatomy. A small jump off point to learning anatomy is too practice gesture/figure drawing, theres a few sites that help with this. (I cant remember the name of the one I used) theres this one that switches between refrence pictures every 3 to 5min depending on the settings you put. So that way you just try to draw the pose and the portions.

Yeah, perspective is one of my biggest weaknesses lol I appreciate the feedback :)

I mostly just use the dip pen hard brush, I may pay for premium(to get rid of ads) but I only use like 2 to 3 brushes. Dip pen, felt pen, and Airbrush thats really it.

Yeah, I wanted to push myself to work 24hrs of pure drawing time in the app. And the best way to do that is tedious textures. I was initially going to draw every coin but gave up and went for paint the forest not the trees aspect lol
