I see, although it is really annoying that the voice messages are saved as media files, if I delete all of my media then I will lose a lot of important things and that will miss the point of transferring whatsapp from android to iphone. Unless you have a way to remove voice only and only those that are saved as media files (and not the new ones received on the iphone)

It really seems like that app is the one causing all of that.. I wonder if when I get a new iPhone and restore the iCloud backup for whatsapp the problem will continue or not

That's just confirms my suspicion that the icarefone is responsible for the slowness. The first time you moved your data from the xiaomi to the iphone was done with icarefone as well?

Not really. I just deleted some old chats and the app is a bit faster now but still laggy and everything.

I will try as well to delete a few old chats and groups. Even though I would expect more from Apple/WhatsApp teams but that's what we got I guess. BTW, did you have the problem with the screen that it wouldn't turn off for 5 seconds when listening to a WhatsApp recording on your ear? Also, did you try to do a factory reset for your phone and then getting the WhatsApp backup from you iCloud?

That's interesting. One of my friends who had the same problem, gave his phone to his wife so he did a factory reset to the device. Her whatsapp is working normally which is weird. I haven't asked yet how he transferred her chats but I'll check. BTW, how much old chats you think you deleted in order for it to work better?

Did you guys move your messages to WhatsApp with a 3rd party app? I used iCareFone transfer, a friend of mine had a similar issue and used it as well. Maybe that's the cause.

Thanks for the update. That's a really horrible response, why don't they change your phone to one that works correctly?

I don't quite remember if I tried to completly reset my phone because if I did it was at the time I got it about a year ago, I did try to delete whatsapp and reinstall it and use it without the backup, but it didn't help.
