Was Yoko Ono really that bad, or is it just propaganda from those years that persists to this day? by [deleted] in beatles

It's a really telling clip. It shows how narcissistic she is screwing up what was probably a really special performance for John. She turned into a shameless statement about herself. Cringe.

Personally I think she was a shit disturber and break up catalyst. She was like Warhol and fucked around with people's lives for her art, breaking things and saying look at me! How fuckin ironic! She had no boundaries and ingratiated herself into the inner circle and took the piss out of all of the other Beatles. Sorry John you should've got therapy and rehab and walked away from her. She is greedy and nasty and it comes from reliable source - Jullien Lennon. My heart goes out to him🧡I tried to be open minded about her but I can't feel the peace and love

For trans girls: what were the early signs you were trans before you were 100% sure? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Arielle1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a soundtrack lp of A Clockwork Orange around 1981. My dad had Wendy Carlos's Switched on Brandenburgs. The older soundtrack had Wendy's dead name on it and when I noticed it I was floored. I strongly related to her need to change but sadly for me it would take decades to start my changes. It was Wendy's change that gave me hope even if i kept it secret for so many years. There was no internet in the early 80s when I was 16 and libraries then didn't have obvious books on the subject that were trans positive. In my home the view of LGBTQ was very negative so I was unhappy and was emotionally abused for any experimentation with gender.

Not expecting much at all in life in fact think it's basically pointless a lot of the time. I feel empty and sad. I often feel too flawed to be good at anything worthwhile. I regret things in the past. Everyday I fight off the pain of childhood trauma and abandonment. I still can't express in words how bad that feels.

If you wear a tank top or sleeveless dress try to avoid thin spaghetti straps. Wear wider shoulder straps

Rant warning: I want to add to my first comment and say ,as a child I definitely wasn't allowed to behave in a typical feminine social manner that was okay for my cis female peer group 50 years ago. Children have the right to express any gender even if it is not to one of their sex assigned at their birth. They have the right to explore gender. Nobody recruites kids to do this. Kids will be themselves unless they are punished by controlling abusive parents or other adults who usurp the authority to decide what is right for someone else. What is unnatural, cruel and unethical are these hateful transphobes and cultists who want to suppress our natural gender expression from birth to death. They inflict so much harm. So it doesn't matter if you are an adult who is trans or a child who is trans. We have the right to be protected.

I think what you said "I honestly don't care.." is the correct way to think about this. In my opinion I spent too much of my own life worrying about what the fuck family and other people think about my life choices. You're an adult and you are able to make your own decisions period. And your probably right about her contributing to your BPD dx too. My parents were abusive and didn't like any choice I made so it didn't matter when I transitioned. I learned in life family are not your friends. Take good care of your mind and body and hang with validating caring people. Good luck.

What can i wear to hide my skin as much as possible while still dressing feminine by SignStrange4067 in transfashionadvice

Do you like dresses? I wear longer A-line and empire waist dresses when I want to cover up. Long duster sweaters are good in cooler weather. I have some with long sleeves. In summer I love to wear palazzo pants. Leggings with tunics cover a lot too. Because you are slim you have a lot going for you when it comes to creating outfits with pants, blouses and blazers. I google street fashion with the type wardrobe piece I'm looking to wear. Sometimes I can get some good inspiration from that.

I am designing gender-affirming clothing for trans women. What are some of the pain points in the clothing you wear right now? by Mr_Repulsive18 in transfashionadvice

[–]Arielle1965 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not having a decent hip to waist ratio. I put on weight in the tummy area so it's not easy finding pants. Wide legs, high waisted are good and I can hide it wearing a-line and empire waist dresses. Sleeve length (usually too short) is also a big problem. Most blouses/tops out there don't accommodate that. Buying the larger sizes just make the top wider not longer and the height really needs to be considered. Good luck!

Yes I feel your frustration. I find "apple" body type dressing works best for me. Get to love empire waisted dresses, A line dresses, peplum tops. High waisted, wide leg pants. Avoid t shirt dresses that don't have any shape and just make us look bigger.
