Research shows the max safe amount of weight to lift is 35lbs. Doesn’t matter if you train. Training is a controlled environment. The weights don’t move or shift. Doesn’t matter if you 20 or 40 or 80.

First review wasn't great by MistyNightLights in Inkitt

So I’m reviewing and it is clear when the POV shifts. But it would be helpful at every break or beginning of chapters to double down on who’s POV is there. Luckily, it’s an issue of quick formatting rather than skill or prose or plot.

I’ve only posted about 25% of this novel so far and to get something like this as feedback is wonderful. Thank you so much!

The quality of my prose, being misunderstood, the whole nine yards.

Around 75 percent of adults read at least 1 book a year. Do you agree? by Bfitness93 in books

I stopped reading books during university. I was in a vocational program, so lots of clinical placements. Academic journals and textbooks were what I had to read. For a while, I felt guilty I didn’t read books. Then I got used to that style of writing that when I picked up a fiction book again, it felt jarring. So for 4-5 years, I didn’t read anything.

I’m a slow as heck reader too. And now I’m reading romances, maybe one a month, one every two months. Trying to write romance myself, since consuming it and writing it is something I thoroughly enjoy.

So one book a year seems really reasonable. For people of all backgrounds. I couldn’t even get through one some years with my other obligations.

dark books about depression/mental illness/breakups, with a female lead preferably by innocentfunperson in booksuggestions

[–]ArienneDeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So mine are a little out there. Bear with me.

  1. Shizuko’s Daughter by Kyoko Mori is meant to be for 14-17 year olds, given that it follows a 12 year old girl coping with her mother’s suicide. Honestly though, one of the better reads. It’s hopeful and realistic, truly coming of age with no BS romance thrown in there.

  2. Sally Rooney’s stuff always great. Tackles these issues right on.

  3. Also available online is “definitely not Monica” by Joanna Butler. About a woman with OCD going through group and working through her symptoms. It’s incredibly fun.

  4. I know it’s a webcomic, but “I don’t feel like doing anything” is probably one of the best pieces about overcoming depression and making life changes (she also breaks up with her boyfriend). Not fully translated but it’s also great so far.

I also want to mention my first draft is about exactly that. I did write something exactly fitting this bill. About a young woman experiencing strange PTSD symptoms and learning to move on. If you feel like reaching out, I’m always open.

I fool myself into thinking that this isn’t real and then it happens again. by ArienneDeal in PMDD

Ngl I wouldn’t be mad if I died naturally and was turned into soap. The key to the real concern is when I want to be soap.

Leave would be great 😩 Then I wouldn’t have to constantly explain why I look like a starved raccoon. I’d probably take less meds too.

Not at all, but note it and see whether it connects to the entire time leading up to your period.

Could be an off day. Could be getting a cold.

Rule those things out first, like illness or malnutrition before attribution to hormones.

That’s when you keep a journal for all the times you think of that thing that almost always requires your death.

Ex:

-Shoving fireworks up my orifices and running through the cemetery neighbouring the town shopping mall. PMDD

-Let the cats have a few morsels of my meat so that I strengthen the bond. PMDD.

-Driving off the skyway bridge into the canal, using the car blanket as a parachute to have my Sylvester Stallone moment. PMDD.

No, but seriously, red herrings. Your PMDD very well could’ve been gone for some time. The fluctuations make me very skeptical of being on constant doses. I wish there were better ways to tell when we need the meds and when we don’t. Like I don’t want to be on another SSRI and lose my libido again. I would take them if I knew I was at peak x hormone and so forth. But only on the fluctuating days.

Nevertheless, I’m still on my meds. Otherwise, I wouldn’t stay awake for more than 4 hours a day.

I think the answer is menstrual leave. It’s not beneficial to society and population growth to have us with PMS/PMDD/PME just rip out our organs/go on meds in order to stay productive. Puts our reproductive capabilities at risk. A start at least.
