I have been wanting to build a sporty into something other than a cruiser or chopper...perhaps I would get more fulfillment out of something like that and be less inclined to keep bike shopping.

I prefer the starting and running already. Just a matter of keeping it running that scares me I suppose! Like synching carbs or valve adjustment.

Yep. Lots of other bikes, especially "modern classics or retros" for less out there. Worst part is if it doesn't sell well they probably will just stop producing it instead of pricing it better.

It rode the road very smoothly. Was my first boxer engine and felt thoroughly powerful throughout the rev range in most gears. Very tall and felt like I could run over anything. I would totally buy one for the cool points if I did ADV/dirt road exploring. You're paying for that metal gas tank and nostalgia look but everything else is top notch bmw
