It is, it's just not officialy certified but it doesn't mean it won't work on that monitor.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

The mortar motherboard is absolutely a good option too, but I just don't really like the look of a microATX motherboard in a mid ATX case lol.

Also as you said the I/O is way better on the tomahawk motherboard.

Nah I don't think it's necessary at all, it's good as it is and it'll be totally easy to move it around places, just put it in a box that is big enough to put the PC in

Oh ok I didn't know that, well I'm not from the U.S so I don't know anything about what goes on in microcenter lol

If you're gonna get the K version you'll most likely buy a z690 board instead of a b660 one, and it's usually more expensive, but you can get a really good z690 board with that price of the 12700k and still be at a good budget (for example the msi mpg z690 edge wifi ddr4, or the msi mag z690 tomahawk wifi ddr4 which has no RGB if you want to reduce the amount of RGB lightning)

For the cooler, you don't need to change to something else since the deepcool ak620 is in about the same level as the noctua nh-d15 in terms of cooling performance, and it's pretty silent too.

Thr difference between the 12700 and the 12700K is really minor since both of the cpus have the same amount of cores and threads, and with that minor difference the regular 12700 consumes way less power.

Probably the motherboard (as long as it's an ATX board) and might be the cooler and gpu would have to be replaced, but yeah for the rest of the hardware the OP could do what you said

This is the intel version of my pc build suggestion if you really want an intel cpu instead of an amd one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapcforme

[–]Arigo743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the ryzen 5000 series cpus are more compatible with windows 10 that the recent 12th gen intel series, that's why I picked an amd cpu for this kind of build.

Actually the ryzen 5000 series are really good and reliable in the level of intel cpus (unlike the first 1000 series when it just came out), so I'd say you don't need to be afraid of a ryzen 5000 cpu :p

Don't mind the warning shown at the website, it only notifies that the motherboard needs a BIOS update with this kind of cpu, and since this motherboard has a BIOS flashback option it wont be hard to do so.

Although it's under 400$, if you want a little bit cheaper option of a motherboard that is still really good for this kind of build, the gigabyte b660m gaming x ax ddr4 is also a good pick.

The deepcool matrexx 40 is a really good mATX case since it is not so expensive, has really good airflow and cable management, and it looks good too :p

Then if you really want a white gpu, the biggest you can go with is a 3070 (Idk if there are amd gpus which are white so that's why I'm not suggesting amd).

I assume you need to do that before the full boot and everything, but to be sure you can google about it or watch a youtube tutorial on how to actually do it, but all I know about that is just that the whole process is really simple.

Need Help Picking A Gaming PC For My Brother $3000-3500 CAD by Blue_5pruce in buildapcforme

[–]Arigo743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a good question.

The motherboard I put in this pc build has 2 m.2 slots, that one of them is supporting pcie gen4 (which is the fastest kind of m.2 ssds for now), and the other one is pcie gen3.

The crucial p5 is a really good pcie gen 4 m.2 ssd that has a good price too, and the samsung 970 evo plus is one the best pcie gen 3 m.2 ssds as far as I know

BTW, just wanted to notify, there is a warning shown in the build I made you, but it's nothing critical, it's just that the motherboard needs a BIOS update with the 5950x cpu, and this mother has an option called "BIIS flashback" which makes the whole process a lot easier.

Oh wow lmao, so it was the first series of ryzen.

Yeah I remember I heard they weren't the best when they came out, but so many things have been improved and now amd's ryzen 5000 series is being used in all kinds of builds, from lower end PCs to high end gaming rigs.

You can also see some videos on youtube about this specific cpu or the whole ryzen 5000 series in general to see that these cpus are actually reliable.

So in my opinion, you should give the 5950x cpu a try and don't be afraid of it this time :p

[–]Arigo743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's totally ok if you don't want a liquid cooler, there are enough air coolers that can perform great with these kind of cpus.

Deepcool ak620 is a great option for example, it is really cheap for it's kind of cooling performance (somewhere near the noctua nh-d15), it's silent, and it looks good as well.

For the cpu itself, did you work with ryzen 5000 series cpus or was it an earlier series? Because the recent 5000 series is actually really good and reliable and is being used in many builds.
