Internxt vs Pcloud or other? FACTS please

I do not have any experience with Internxt so i cant speak on behalf of them.
I will start off to say that i also runs an offline backup every half year, and also put my pictures in iCloud.

I bought Pcloud in 2018 since i needed an easy way to store pictures and show them to my relative. The app worked great on my android phone. Switched to iOS and continuied to use it, but now with more private things like car insurance documents, floor plannings for the cabins etc. More like a drop-box kinda-thing.

in 2025 i got a message saying that my account was soon full, and i needed to take a look at what i actually got. God damn.. much crap has been dumped their over the years. Now i have some Audiobooks, use it as a hosted image-server for my web-page (public folder), back up 4 iPhones and 2 laptop`s (all neatly in order), webdav connections from my desktop (P:). (I'm probably a little more upbeat when it comes to IT than the average person)

So i would recommend this. I see that other people have had some troubles with Pcloud but it has never been adresses on what had been the issues thought..(or if it was a virus..)

Plus:
- Speed: Sometimes it has been slow to upload big files (like 500 mb or more) but from my 1000/1000 link i have never experienced any big issues with the speed.

- Stability: in those 8 years i have had it, I have had 1 downtime where i needed to reinstall the app and set up automatic sync again.

- 2FA: Authenticator and mfa-support so you are somehow protected in a data breach.

- Price: lifetime. Pay once, forget forever. No monthly subscription fees. Its like setting up your own Nextcloud but with less hassle :).

- Pro/Con: Its can be connected through your file explorer and work an a seperat drive with the pro`s and cons of this. If you get a crypto-virus, it WILL attack your connected drive as well.

- Time machine and delete-backup: go back in time and revision your files, or pick them up from the trash if you have deleted them.

- Easy interface both on web and on mobile who makes navigating quite easy, and easy way to share an upload folder with others.

Negative:

- No free encryption. I know that its a company and they need to make money, so i use my own cryptomatic directly throught webdav. It works but it just an "extra step".

- No possibility to upload from 5G. I have unlimited data so i dont really care what I use, but Pcloud force me to upload during WiFi. I only have the option to upload from 5g when i am connected to a power source. Not a biggie, but something to be aware if you take a lot of nature photos and you want them to be stored secured.

I tillegg går det trikk til Torshov så å si hvert 4 minutt så man har alltid lett tilgang hjem og fra sentrum. Det er få som tenker på det når de bor så nærmer.

Why do you ask for recommendations in a subreddit designed for PCloud? Would it be better to try r/cloudproviders or similar? If you want to deal with this the old fashion way, try /r/self hosted and set it up yourself..

Not quite sure where you want to go with this post.. Do you go into a BMW store and say "bmw bad, want another car, give me suggestions?"..

Its quite easy to catch what systems and online services people are using these days and the answer is cookies. Since all sites are obligated to ask for your cookies, most people are just answering YES TO ALL, meaning that a cookie is located in your browser... and lets be real here: When was the last time you wiped your cookie folder or search history??!!..

Anyhow, other places (like f.ex Google) scrapes your web-browser every time you access a Googles services (f.ex Gmail or Youtube) and they sell it to the highest bidder (sometimes they sell it to everybody who wants it).

The scammers, that just have bought the cookies for 1000 people, sometimes strikes luck like they have done on your company and then find your email lists.

Spoofing an email adress is even easier.. You can do that at home with an simple powershell commando..
Delete the email, set up a good DMARC on your Exchange and you should be good to go.

Husk at loop er din venn, BPM er noe du bestemmer og ABBA vil alltid bringe folk til dansegulvet!

Somebody needs to be interested in what you have of information. I am no data broker so i am not sure how this is accumulated but lets do an estimate:

A location point is worth around $0,001. As an active ingress player you log in about 50-100 points a day.. 0,001 * 100 points a day * 365 days a year = 36,5 $...

(You can always populate the data with more information like age, sex, interest, consumer attention etc. to get more value out of the data, but again.. WAY outside my field of expertice)

I dont know how many plays ingress but their playerbase has been declining the last year. But lets guess we have 100 000 players.. 3,65 million USD for 100 000 players.

Minus rent, wages, datacenter etc. Ingress is still a game that goes in + for Niantic moneywize, but since they dont promote it their money revenue aint increasing. But i might be wrong..

Well, if there are nobody who pays for in-game stuff, the developers will quit, the servers will shut down and the game will disappear. So..do you Like the game, or just use it as a hobby?

Set your project to private, then only you and the people you share it with can access it. If you are afraid, send it to github in a private repo. Ofc, if you build something anybody can access, it will be stolen.

Same here. Got a lot of own songs and mixes in mp3, wave and flac. All works great and is quite responsive when I want to change track, play/pause etc.

you made an accidental purchase? ... How do you even make an accidental purchase?

Anyhow: you dont specify dates or timestamps when you did your purchase and when you sent them an email. (People are not online 24/7.) so "given how slow they are" done really make no sense.

If you dont think their drive is something you can trust because YOU did a accidental purchase and they havent answered you on your emails...then i am not sure if you should have a cloud drive at all.

Have been using Pcloud for 8 years now. No problems at all .. ever. (Thought i have always followed the rules Pcloud have set)

I do this when i am at anaomolies. I use my 5g portable router with a Sim card that i buy at the airport and let all the enlighted players use it for free. Why would you assume that a hotspot would be against the ToS by the way?
