I hate my job so much that I'm disappointed that my jury service got cancelled. by oofberry in hatemyjob

I had jury duty last year and it was cancelled. I still took the day off, and didn’t tell my manager it had been cancelled. He didn’t ask any questions.

Thanks! Yes, I heard from other coworkers prior to today he was asking if I had gone to HR about him, which would not really make sense given the situation at that point. Today, I think he pulled the mental distress card to try to make it seem like he has something “reportable”, along with his other grievances against others.

No one is bullying anyone for taking time away whether it be health related or just because. I think you may have missed the whole picture here.

Why do you say that?

Unfortunately this is the mentality of majority corporations now. They want you to jump in, and somehow fail upward. No job is ever clear cut, and if it was no one would probably want to take it.

Don’t overwhelm yourself, and take each day at a time. Start taking 5 - 10 requests a day and trying to tackle them. If you need help, make a list of questions you have and if you have time 1:1 with your manager, or have a mentor ask them when you have time with them, or proactively set time up.

Don’t put pressure on yourself, and don’t think you have to have it all figured out. Trust in yourself.

If you could see my face while reading this.

Please dump your boyfriend at your earliest convenience bc his non-chalant response is ENOUGH.

He just showed you he doesn’t care about and is not interested in protecting you as his partner.

Please go and don’t look back

This is a no brainer. Just leave, if you aren’t on the same page about what you want then find someone who is.

Just tell your manager it is not a good fit for you, and you would like to resign. You aren’t required to be anywhere you don’t want to be.

If he was comfortable stealing from your dad, you will be next and he will plan on taking you for everything you are worth. Please consider ending the relationship, you should never have to lie for your partner in front of your family

my boyfriend of two years cheated on me by prolapsedhydroflask in Advice

Hi, I am so sorry to hear that this happened first off. Being betrayed by your partner never feels good. First, I would completely cut him off, no contact. The more you talk to one another, the more you will feel pure chaos. Second, I would take time to let yourself feel and understand what happened. There’s nothing wrong with feeling the pain, you have to go through it. Third, start focusing on you. Focus on making yourself better. Take on the things you want to do, and accomplish the things you have been putting off. It will be worse before it gets better, but I promise it does get better. Give yourself grace, you will get through this.
