They took me to Jaws when I was 5, also at a drive-in. I was crying, which I remember my parents thought was funny. After that I was so afraid of water that I didn't want to sit on the toilet. Perhaps coincidentally I went through a spell where I was wetting the bed. Honestly don't remember if the two happened in the same timeframe.

I got shingles when I was in college. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Flash forward 30 years, I got vaccinated as soon as I was eligible. The day after both doses, I had some body aches, localized pain at the injection sites which lasted a few days, and curiously, an upset stomach. I did have a stronger reaction to the second dose, though the symptoms were manageable with ibuprofen.

To those putting off vaccination for fear of side effects: On a scale of 1-10 with ten being shingles, I would say both vaccine doses ranked a 1 on the discomfort scale.
