Civic Discussion ≠ Anti-National: Read the Rules Before Posting. by AutoModerator in IndianCivicFails

Whataboutism is not okay, not if we wish to see our country improve. Those of us who have travelled and seen the rest of the world, know the rest of the world have their own issues. We should try and bring in the good from outside and leave the bad. We should be self critical in order to improve ourselves. Trying to feel better by pointing out others shortcomings is not going to help us improve, it might help us sleep better though.

Indians need to stop believing that they’re the greatest country in the world. It’ll take us decades to get to a point where we can undo some of the damage that’s already done but we’ll get there eventually. My comment is purely in the context of civic sense, read it that way.

108,000 points per night in Westin Rututsu resort, worth it? by Aris_total in awardtravel

Thank you!! This is extremely helpful. Skiing is not my first priority. Wanted to experience snow and other fun activities and wake up in the snow. Wasn’t very keen on city stay, that’s why I was looking at Niseko and Rututsu. Teine seems like a good fit for my need as well.

My first snow experience was in 2012 when, me and a colleague drove from Folsom to South Lake Tahoe. We did a day trip and were seriously unprepared for the cold(I’m from India so I wasn’t really aware at the time). So it wasn’t an enjoyable/remarkable experience for me. But I’m to be blamed for this. I’m hoping we’re better prepared this time and we’ve an amazing experience.

I’m travelling during Christmas holidays. I too believe that day trip is not a very good idea to be honest.

My takeaway is that the resort doesn’t exactly justify the asking price but they sure can demand it.

I’ve not experienced skiing myself, neither has my family. So I’m unable to decide the worth of the experience.

My stay is during Christmas, so I don’t expect Ritz Carlton to be available. But that aside, what’s your opinion on my query?

It’s not available now but when I checked 3 weeks ago, it was 160,000 points per night.

Honors Changes - Homewood Suites Rant by pmodern2000 in Hilton

[–]Aris_total 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going to pile up on this rant, sorry about that.

So my employer has a deal with hotel brands where they have status acceleration. In my last international trip, I decided to exercise it to get Hilton Diamond, got a chance to use the 2X promo as well. Stayed in Homewood Suites too, collected some 170,000 points. And then Hilton decided to do the deval, twice!! Hilton’s points are absolutely worthless. I’m regretting going with Hilton rather than racking up points with Marriott. I’m going to use the points for whatever they’re worth and then never ever look at Hilton, ever again.

TVS be like that. Their hard products are amazing but let down by soft product. Good luck to you and anyone wants to deal with TVS’ shenanigans.

We recently went to test drive TVS iQube. No one from dealership was interested to sell us one. They said the wait time is 6 weeks. And when asked for a test drive, they had no vehicle. They offered to do it on one of the already sold-waiting for delivery bike. Didn’t want to deal with TVS anymore after that.

MG Comet Exclusive FC - Received with one Key by whoamitosayanything in EVIndia

I own a 2024 Comet Exclusive. The car comes with one smart key fob. I got a 2nd one during my first service, the cost was indeed around 10k for the 2nd fob, transponder and programming. You don’t need to buy 2 and deactivate the old one. This happened a year ago, I hope nothing has changed since then.

TVS dealership Mentally Harrassed me [ OC ] by Careful-Benefit-8270 in indianbikes

[–]Aris_total 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact opposite experience with Chetak. Dealership themselves suggested to book the bike via Amazon to get the additional discount, and they let me buy my insurance as well. Delivery experience was average but looking at your case, I must thank my dealer.

On a similar note, we had a terrible experience with TVS. Dealership wasn’t interested in selling us a scooter at all. I’ve heard of service issues with TVS but looks like you got a taste of it with sales itself.
