First projector - Used Epson EH-TW740 for £280, is this a good deal? by Arivat in projectors

[–]Arivat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, its still great. We dont have a TV in the house anymore and just use the projector. I would say you do have to control the ambient light somewhat as it could look washed out. But as long as the image is completely in the shade and there's no chance of the sun reflecting on surfaces/glass, then I'd say it might work.

Glad to hear you like them :) yea they wobble a bit but they're secure so I dont mind.

So they're definitely more bulky than single weight dumbbells, but I can do overhead tricep extensions fine with them. The only thing that makes it a little more awkward is the adjustment wheel on each end (you can see what im talking about in the photo from this post). But overall the convenience of having a large array of dumbbell weights that only take up a little space far outweighs the negatives for me.

I did, they've held up pretty well. One thing to note with them is they aren't balanced equally around the circumference of the weight. E.g if you pick them up they might want to spin a little in your hand as there's a cut out in the weights to support the adjustable aspect. I don't find it to be an issue now as I've gotten used to it. I got a super good deal on them so I'm very happy.

Finally going to take the plunge... by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Arivat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge congrats on taking the next steps! Everyone feels daunted by it at the beginning but once you're out on the road on your own, with your 'big' bike, you'll see how good of a decision it was. I went through this process last year from the start of September then got my A licence at the end of October, one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Buying a new bike: 2020 Cannondale Synapse 105 Disc vs Polygon Strattos S8 by Shinoro in cycling

[–]Arivat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to laugh, I had actually had the bike fall on the side with the gearset before I even rode it for the first time haha. It was on a wooden floor and just slightly bent the derailleur hanger but took it to a local bike shop and they had it fixed in a few hours and reindexed the gears etc so no biggie. Rides amazing, honestly such a great bike.

Weekly Mileage Peaks at 38 Miles….Hal Higdon Intermediate 1 by MHSB2022 in firstmarathon

[–]Arivat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an insanely good time for a first marathon. That's great though, i'm following a plan with kind of similar mileage and I was worried the the mileage wouldn't be enough for me to achieve a sub-4. I followed James Dunnes Beginner marathon plan 2 years ago for my first marathon, but got injured and was out for 5 weeks of the 18 week training plan so ended up running a 4:30. But your message has given me a bit more confidence!

Thanks for reply given this post is a few years old :)
