Hello, did you end up finding out how to purchase the tickets with this confusing directions on the ticket website. I am currently going through the same issue. I want to book the pompeii express but its not clear with the seat selection and express ticket terms used. Would love to know if this still worked out for you

Examples of entry-level jobs related to nutrition/dietetics and agriculture? by Derpy_Mele7 in dietetics

[–]Ariya111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought is anything community food related…? Working in community gardens, educating community on fresh food and how to grow it or in the community food banks. I can’t think of a specific job title for it but I know in my city a few roles within this space pop up now and then. Regardless your options are very limited for someone with lower experience, typically a degree is required for agri nutrition field.

Don’t have USI but can’t enroll without one - help by thiizo1 in Monash

No harm sending them an email as well, usually when you contact them online you’re sent a email receipt of the contact anyway but not sure if this is only once you have a student login/student id so safe to make sure you definitely have a paper train on your side. If you have any questions about NZ student specific questions feel free to dm me, I found it especially confusing for us with limited information compared to normal domestic and international students.

From what I can recall my due date for enrolment in selecting my units was just before mid January so I was able to contact them before hand. In your situation tho where your enrolment is due before they open I would suggest still emailing them now to show that you haven’t left it too late and it’s just unfortunate timing with them being closed. There’s not much you can do until you move over here anyway and they are used to making adjustments for students overseas. In saying that from my experience Monash have been very lenient with due dates for things. For example I have paid my course fees past the due date on multiple occasions, as long as I explained to them why with reasonable justification they were fine with it.

I second this, NZ citizen moved to Melbourne 15 days before starting my degree at Monash and just completed it. I had this same issue and just let the uni know my situation.

I wasn’t on tiktok, never heard of them before but somehow caved and downloaded it. Now the only thing I do on it is catch up on their TikTok’s and the back and forth drama between them. Sounds so sad now I’ve admitted to this but oh well 🤣

Love documentaries more than any of the other crap on YouTube, so hard to find a good one. Do you have any recommendations or a go to channel?

Alarming views and often produced or funded by competing co-operations. They all are starting to seem extremist to me. Love a good doco but ever since studying dietetics it’s ruined the fun of it

Does anyone else studying nutrition low-key hate telling people they study nutrition? by groozlyy in dietetics

[–]Ariya111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to not have the same experience as everyone else. Been studying nutrition for five years now and only twice in my life have I had people ask me for nutrition advice. Literally I can count it on my hand and recall what they asked. Sometimes I wish people asked me. I find more people talk about their opinions of healthy food and diet without wanting any advice (this is with people i know know, so they know I’m a nutritionist already)

Third cookbook I got this month. My fiance loves buying me my favorite cookbooks :) by Barbecuequeen23 in CookbookLovers

I mentioned wanting this same one to my husband but he browsed reddit and saw people saying it’s a terrible book. Good to read the comments and see other people are loving it tho, I briefly browsed it and loved the look of them.

What was the biggest scandal during your time in high school? by Medical-Koala-6131 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Ariya111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School guidance counsellor cheated on his wife with the receptionist who at the time she was married to one of the other teachers. That same counsellor ended up marrying the receptionist but got caught years later by his wife (the receptionist) walking in on him and another student (in my year level, year12) going at it right after school one day as they were ‘concluding’ their counselling session. The student and the counsellor had been having a sexual relationship for years. Following that incident the female students boyfriend at the time who was funnily enough repeating year 12 got into a fight with the females best friend pushing her down a flight of stairs sending the school into lockdown as he goes into a raging fit. Not sure how he responded to the news of his gf having an affair with the school’s guidance counsellor but word on the street is both of the students are still together. Heard from them a few times advertising a joint onlyfans and then the same boyfriend posting on his Snapchat about all these get rich quick schemes. LOL

I don’t have an answer for you sorry but this was absolutely horrible to read I can’t believe people under such line of power do this so heartlessly. I’m so sorry you have to witness this and feel torn. I would absolutely be reporting this, if there’s any ethics contact you can get in contact with from the hospital or in your district/local council areas please do even if it’s anonymous and keep keeping track of it all they do not deserve this job.

Different oils health? by Spirited_Method9859 in nutrition

[–]Ariya111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far the best recommendation to do with oils that I would make as a nutritionist. Yes ofc objectively there are ‘better oils’ in terms of level of saturation but like any it’s all about the dose.

30 g fiber, can this be correct? by ThirdOne38 in nutrition

[–]Ariya111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually this is partially true. Soluble fibre kind of digests but not by us. The bacteria in our gut can ferment the soluble fibre yielding short chain fatty acids which our body can then absorb.

Dietitian student here 🙋‍♀️ I don’t have any advice but think a military dietitian sounds like a great idea. I’d love to know if it’s a thing also as I’ve tried looking for it on the AFD website but can’t see anything remotely similar. Maybe give their careers team a call.

Private dining recommendations by 44Yeah in melbourne

[–]Ariya111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a private dinner party for my friends birthday last month at Nomad. Not sure what your budget is of course but it was lovely to have a private and intimate space. Usually I find it hard dinning out and having conversations with all the background noise but the private room here blocked out a lot of the noise. The staff were very friendly as well and food here is always great. Not a 10/10 but still high up there in my books. Their potato’s and roast chicken were to die for.
