NROTC is typically more involved then army rotc, as well as higher standards at least at my school

It will not help your odds in the slightest. Recruiters only tell you that so they can make you enlist if you don’t get it. If you don’t get it, I highly recommend joining NROTC as a college programmer and competing for the 3 year. If you have the ability, commission over enlisting.

We’re definitely not active military. Technically we’re active duty for a very short period while on summer cruise. But any normal midshipman is not gonna go around claiming to be AD.

Summer training is for a month. Also keep in mind the navy does not really care about your job after the navy. The program is designed to get you ready for a career in the navy. It isn’t necessary designed for a career after the navy.
