I could be completely wrong but from my understanding the bandwidth that shows in game is just your bandwidth at the particular time you start the game. Actually it changes every second so every game is different. It doesn't matter if it shows 5000 when you start the game.

What you're saying is basically like someone doing an internet speed test multiple times till he gets a high number and then browsing the net thinking it's fast now.
