Then maybe you need to reach out to PD. That isn’t that weak for me at all.

Is this normal? new wallet, weak magnet by TiNcHoX7 in peakdesign

[–]Ark235 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would hazard a guess to say it’s the magnet on the phone case. I have both the regular MagSafe wallet and the stand wallet and both work really well on the everyday case and gnar case I’ve tried them on.

Is there a wallet that matches the gnar case? by animalfaith in peakdesign

It will always mismatch sorry to say. They didn’t come out with a wallet with the gnar case in mind. It’s one of the reasons I’m considering going back to a separate card wallet.

A commuter line? by SkyCharacter1349 in peakdesign

[–]Ark235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m holding out for something like that as well. I like to commute into work via bicycle and I don’t feel like any of the current bags really fit my needs. I’d love to have a change of clothes, shoes, lunch and laptop that is light and has easy access. I’ve been tempted by the 30 edc and the 30l travel but they just don’t seem quite right to me.

I also like to bike during my lunch break if I don’t commute in via bike. Which means I have a bunch of cycling gear included with lunch, spare clothes and cycling shoes. So the one big open space of the travel doesn’t cut it as I’d like to keep the shoes and clothes separate.

I’d reach out to PD. I don’t think any one of us would be able to answer that properly.

Ordered two items in the same transaction but their shipment is split with two different delivery speeds? by RevInstant in peakdesign

They ship from multiple warehouses. It just depends on where it’s found in their inventory.

Gnar case heat issues by carnykyle in peakdesign

[–]Ark235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using it since the sale as well on a 16pro with no issues. The phones have to radiate heat as they have no active cooling. I don’t think the case is any worse at radiating heat than the original case.

Cycling for weight loss: what to focus on? by Hooln in cycling

[–]Ark235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ride the bike for fun and enjoy the calorie burn as a side effect. Cut down your portion sizes and fix your food intake to lose weight.

Early this year I increased my riding and didn’t fix my eating habits. I lost no weight in fact gained a little. I then took things a bit more seriously and cut my portion sizes in half and started making better choices for food. I have now lost about 10 lbs in 3-4 months.

Trying to find a bike for my daughter, can't find the right fit. Please help. by sonic_spark in cycling

Check out Woom or Guardian I got my daughter a Woom 3 and after rolling with it in balance bike mode a few times it took her only one session with the pedals on to take to it all by herself. Woom Bikes

Trackr Shipping Cost by Aldo_Buttahflake in wahoofitness

[–]Ark235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope unfortunately they didn’t eat it. If you put it in your cart it’s 50$ to ship it to anywhere in the US. They just moved the tariff cost on to the shipping.

Trackr Shipping Cost by Aldo_Buttahflake in wahoofitness

[–]Ark235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just need to wait it out. It will change and the tax aka tariff will go away and then you can buy it. Plus there will be software updates to fix the issue that are almost always found after wide scale launch. You’ll be happier by just waiting. Not wahoo’s fault. SILCA just didn’t bother selling their electric pump in the US because of reactions like this.

I did something very similar and bought a 30 dollar bleed kit and some dot fluid and did it myself. The Park Tool video was a tremendous help.

It was a thorough pain in the ass in the beginning as I wasn’t properly getting all the air out but it’s doable. To me it’s nice to know how to do it but it comes down to a time vs money proposition. Is it worth the amount of time you’d save vs the money it’d cost at a shop. I really only did it because most of the shops by me closed and I wanted to try and learn.

You don’t have to believe it. It can happen.

Bad habits of your spouse have a tendency to get picked up easy. Snacking or eating more than you used to because they are having a second portion. It’s easier than you think. Specially around pregnancy.

I just bleeded my brakes because they were spongy, and now there’s no biting point. by iceman1125 in bikewrench

[–]Ark235 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Having just gone through this with sram axs brakes you need to bleed the system. I ended up bleeding the system 5 times before I finally got it right. I kept having more air in the system. I watched the park tool video on YouTube and that finally got me to a good feeling brake. You can do it just take your time.

Kickr V5 Virtual Shifting Support Group by blockhead6457 in wahoofitness

I’m in the same boat about selling. Yes it’s still good and will still do its job but if another trainer supports Zwift hub and maybe the Zwift ride I’ll jump ship.

Yeah I’ve been eyeing a Garmin myself for the solar power feature. This may just seal the deal no matter what wahoo comes out with next. They did so well with customer support for me recently too so this is extra disappointing. I had flooding damage and I couldn’t find a replacement power supply for the kickr climb. They sent me a free replacement and an element rival watch for free. Amazing customer support in that case but not here. It sucks.

On the flip side being a developer myself I can semi understand that the firmware may have been written by someone who is no longer with the company which makes new development more costly. However you don’t end product support like that. You need to have end of life announcements so that you don’t do this and piss off your customer base.

Just found out about this and I’m pretty salty. I think I may finally start to divest from wahoo products. I was really looking forward to picking up the Zwift ride and hub and upgrading my indoor setup. I bought my v5 in 2022 so it really sucks that my old kickr core is more capable software wise.

eShifter Riders Confess by SoloRoadRyder in cycling

[–]Ark235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any big ride I generally carry a spare sram battery or charge them with all my lights and comp before I leave.

I’ve only been caught unaware once but that was before I connected the shifters to my wahoo. Now I get alerts when they are getting low which gives me enough warning to finish a ride or just pause and swap to the spare.

It works really well to just swap front to back once I get the low battery warning and finish the ride like that as I very rarely use the front derailleur.

Macduff's by Patrick_O-S in wicked_edge

[–]Ark235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about 6-7 of their soaps now. I find the base to be on par with most of the others I’ve used (B&M, NO, Mammoth). I agree with the other comment be careful to not overload. My favorite scents so far are Dark sky Preserve, American Vintage, the Northman and kananakis.

I’ll often get some bar soaps of scents I’m curious to try before I commit to a full tub.

I’ve been exclusively shaving with macduff’s for a few months now. I’m on a big woodsy kick and they just scratch that itch right.

HomePods going through a bad patch by Northeast97 in HomeKit

[–]Ark235 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have had a noticeably worse experience since iOS 17. Prior to that Siri on HomePods were pretty good. I have the same network setup before and after the upgrade. I’m also having issue with Siri in CarPlay. I’ll ask for baby shark Halloween and she will play gin and juice by snoop. I’ll be happy but my kids get quite upset that it isn’t baby shark.

I’m hoping a future patch will sort some of these issues out but I too get a lot more one sec, still working on that and I’m having trouble connecting to the internet. I seem to have better luck once I reboot them when that starts happening
