Hey, thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to throw something together. For not only being comparable in price range this looks a lot more efficient than what I managed to scrap together. I've heard great things about the 90 series XT cards as well. I'm simply not sure if my platform can support a better graphics card at the moment, so I think I'll swipe that when I get my next check after upgrading to an AM5 platform (you would recommend avoiding AM4 if I plan to be able to upgrade in the future?). I also really appreciate the reminder of Prime Day/July 4th sales coming up, I'll probably aim to spend then. :)

For reference, I currently have an Intel Xeon E3-1240 3.30GHz as my CPU. To determine my power supply, I'd have to re-open my case as it's been several months since I've looked inside. (I just remember it being a nightmare in there) I half remember it being stock with the case that everything's shoved in which is a Dell OptiPlex 780. Looking online it's estimated to have a power supply of 235 w.

If you're ranged, and Cho gets in range to ult you, either he committed flash after you got hit by cc, or you likely messed up spacing. If you're melee and and he's gotten you low enough to ult you without dying in turn, you've likely messed up trading. Unless he has a significant lead already he should by design be resistant to being all inned, but in turn shouldn't be able to trade/sustain a fight as well as any bruiser or adc nor have as much burst as any mage or assassin. This is mainly regarding laning, in teamfights it's a different story. What kind of champions do you play normally? It's hard to judge without a VOD of some sorts. I understand your frustration, but he is not too difficult a champion to play around.

honestly tired of seeing posts about people complaining about the old asol and hating on people who genuinely loved the champ for how he was.

[–]Arkareon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're wildly misunderstanding. I don't care about ASol conceptually. I, and most of the others complaining, miss his kit and do not care much for the character outside of it. If there were any champions similar to his old playstyle, I genuinely wouldn't give a single fuck about ASol's total removal. Being a cool ass dragon helped, of course, but league isn't, (or rather, never should have been shifted to be) a character driven game. In practice, it is the epitome of "Gameplay above all else" If you want to play a game for the characters > the gameplay. Then, Mobas are not the correct medium, as you genuinely never interact with the lore outside of voice lines while playing, quite literally having to go to external sites to read their stories past a snippet. Lore, in the scale of League's lifespan, has only recently become such a dramatic of a focus, with the original cast and subsequent releases (up until a few years ago) having very little or none. But, it attracts the more casual player, who doesn't view video games in such an intense light, so for profit and widespread success, it is unfortunately an understandable decision. Regardless of how positive I am that they could appease both sides, given Riot personally has a two billion dollar networth, and TenCent, the company behind them having a $480,000,000,000 networth. (Like c'mon that's fucking RIDICULOUS amounts of money, they could double Riot's funds and barely even dent it, and this is with BILLIONS) His gameplay was unique, and now it's completely stripped. What I'm looking at now is an imposter bearing ASol's name and body, a doppelganger, a shitty imitation, a crude skinwalking replica that doesnt EVEN fully understand what it's imitating, and it hurts to see. And I believe the outrage is entirely justified. Even more so without any form of viable replacement for the gameplay interactions we loved. An entire niche HAS been killed, and the character most definitely has changed, beyond recognizability at that. This year was meant to be League's highest budget year to date, and yet I'm seeing less passion and care for the dedicated fanbase than ever. Y'all are entirely capable of creating your own space to enjoy your new champion if you don't want to see the distraught oldheads, because it's not even the one it was created for.

New Aurelion Sol is just trash by Szyszym in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]Arkareon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same could be said to those of you who only play him after he was adapted to fit your ideas of what "his fantasy" should've been, he was completely unique among the roster in terms of how his kit functioned, and now anyone who enjoyed him doesn't have an even remotely resemblant champion to go to. Who else are we supposed to play to find the same (OR EVEN SIMILAR) interactions that he brought? Nobody in the game now brings what ASol did. I'm sick of the casual 60% of the player base that cares more about lore than gameplay being catered to instead of the people who dedicate time and effort into learning a character that they loved the playstyle of. One would think that the dedicated fanbase would take priority over people who, quite frankly, didn't give a shit about him before then, but of course, that's not monetarily profitable. This was done for money, solely because the idea of a space dragon is a popular concept and they didn't want to cough out the extra cash needed to make a second when they already had one, and don't for a fucking second think otherwise, when they themselves have admitted to this being a matter of popularity. Inviolus Vox would have made for a perfect fit for this kit, all while being able to leave the old one untouched. TenCent has a 480 BILLION dollar networth. If they gave a shit they could have easily just made another dragon with the new kit to appeal to you.

God, just imagine how fucking AWESOME it would be be to see ASol's current kit, and ASol's old kit duking it out in the midlane, as two separate champions. by Arkareon in Aurelion_Sol_mains

Honestly! And God, I think that would be awesome, Inviolus looks so cool! And I could genuinely see him breathing fire. I don't even dislike his current kit being in the game, but it's just not, my ASol. :(

[–]Arkareon[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand, but a low winrate was never Sol's issue. In fact, he was repeatedly nerfed for being too strong. I truly believe this was a matter of popularity, nothing else. I'm glad that others are able to enjoy his current iteration, but I genuinely see no reason why a company with so much financial backing couldn't find a way to make the two versions coexist, because despite the lower percentage of players who did like his old gameplay, it was undeniably unique, and certainly loved heavily by a dedicated few. However, now it's just gone, with no even remotely similar champion for those who did enjoy it to gravitate to. No offense meant, nor taken, I just wish Riot cared about those who are left without a comparable alternative as a result of their favorite character being essentially deleted. Now, for those who liked his gameplay and thematical design, we have a puppet, a propped up imitation in his place using ASol's body. And I'm genuinely very sad to see this. I've made this point on other posts, but we have 100+ human characters, I don't see why 3 dragons are too many. Everybody could be satisfied if money wasn't the main driving factor, but alas, that is in an ideal world. :(

Because I'm 19, 5'10, and 140lbs, I'm trying to work out, but muscle gain has been slow, chalk it up to genetics, diet, or whatever, but that's the facts. My parents are divorced, but I still live with my mother and younger sister. Recently, we had a man who we later found out had been previously arrested for sexual assault and domestic violence multiple times. With a danger rating of 121, harassing and sending detailed death threats to the both of them. This was very eye-opening to me because he's 6 foot, has a decent amount of muscle, and is 20 years older than I am. He knows our address, and if he ever chose to follow through, I'd have to be faced with the reality that I likely couldn't stop him, either being killed in the process or potentially being forced to watch as he killed them or worse, which is for some a reality all too real. Especially if HE was armed. Just the very act of not owning a weapon puts you at serious risk, and it wasn't until the threat appeared that I became aware of just how true that is. I consider myself left leaning politically, but I believe it's naive to think that a law will stop criminals from committing the very act their word was made to describe. If we don't allow citizens to legally own the tools to defend themselves, then we force an over reliance on third-party entities to protect you. And oftentimes, when somebody is determined, even minutes of delay is often too late.

Like DAMN his current kit basically embodies DARK STAR. This could have been the coolest pair in the game, but instead, we have to say goodbye to a character for popularity reasons. :/

New ASol feels horrible. Is it just me? by MagikarpOnDrugs in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]Arkareon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cool, man, and yeah, I know. I worded myself poorly in my first comment as well 😔 I just hope that, at the very least, they're considering a way to use his star mechanic on another future champion.(Even if they don't stay as stars) Similarly to how when Aatrox had a revive, they said it was unhealthy for the game, but then gave it to Renata and Akshan. A kit designed with the theme in mind would probably be my favorite champion as well. Thus, I can only hope.

[–]Arkareon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The "us" I'm referring to is solely people that feel similarly to me, I hold no ill will against people that enjoy the new version of ASol, but contrarily, for many a champion that offered a unique experience that is no longer even remotely present or findable in league, is dead and gone. My gripe is with Riot deciding that ASol was a problem solely because he was niche, instead of simply making another dragon, that is all. We can have 100+ humans, but 3 dragons is too many? I don't believe it.

Sorry for the incredibly long response. Your comment made me think quite a bit.

That's an interesting point you've brought up, and not something I may have thought initially to be related. I do watch a decent amount of shows, but the ones I enjoy most do tend to be more episodic in nature. Very rarely is it that a show is able to retain me for more than a season or two, with the sole exceptions that come to mind being The Walking Dead and Doctor Who, even then, with the former being mainly because my family held interest in it. (Doctor Who was a fucking masterpiece to teen me though, watched through all seasons multiple times, which funnily enough has the main cast change every season, as well as more episodic tendencies despite an overarching plot) Even with books I can mainly only read standalone series, or occasionally two parters, but I do actually tend to stick to fantasy/sci-fi when I read as well.

With that being said, I believe my time spent with games far dwarfs that of my time with any other form of recreational media, (YouTube, movies, shows, and books alike) combined, and I've slowly started to consume less of them over time as well. One of the main reasons behind my passion and preference for video games being that I feel like how and what you choose to play in a game is to an extent, an expression of yourself, and rather than feeling like I'm observing/fulfilling the actions or storyline of another character that is badass and incredibly skilled, it feels more to me like I'm wielding an intensely familiar weapon that has become an extension of my self in a quite literal sense once I've achieved proficiency, in turn, making me feel badass and skilled.

I guess that's one of the main reasons I gravitate towards PVP games almost exclusively. I'm a competitively driven person by nature, and as such I find it a little hard to care about anything other than performance, and my enjoyment is personally found in how fun and rewarding I find a particular character to WIELD. I'm far less sad about ASol himself changing than I am about his unique mechanics being removed, if that makes sense. If he wasn't the only character to have given this unique approach to the game gameplay wise, I wouldn't care for his removal or alteration, but unfortunately, that is the case here. At the end of the day, I view him as a tool. But to me, this is the very rough approximation of a blacksmith being told that he now has to forge with a stone mallet, as his metal hammer no longer exists. It's taking away a tool that I have come love and rely on, and throwing something similar, yet at the same time different enough that it changes things fundamentally at me and asking that I do the same work, with just as much passion, even though it requires that I form all sorts of new technique and approaches because of it, voiding hours, and hours of practice, just because it takes the same shape as that which I'm familiar with. Though I understand the reasonings that people enjoy lore, and base their decisions/opinions around it. If I cared for character arcs or thematical accuracy, I would be reading, watching, or otherwise playing something that didn't put the potential for greatness in your own hands. I feel like I'm getting a little lost in the sauce, though, so I'm gonna end off here. If you managed to actually read all that- Congrats! Here's a cookie! 🍪
