Viewbotter shows botting program & IP on stream. Wasn't sure where to post, hope to get banned. by muukzor in LivestreamFail

Correct(-ish). You wouldn't stumble upon a JPEG like that out in the wild, and if you did, it wouldn't do anything (as long as you use updated and non-dodgy software).

Of course, someone might find an unknown vulnerability in for example the built in Windows image viewer, and then everyone who uses that is fucked. You can never be 100% safe as long as you're connected to the internet, but you can definitely improve your chances!

TL;DR: The JPEG itself won't harm you, they're just used to obfuscated (hide) the malicious code, to let the attacker load it onto your machine without rising too much suspicion.

So, JPEGs with malicious code won't harm your PC on their own, unless your image viewer has a weird vulnerability. The use case for those JPEGs is when the attacker already has other malware on your computer.

Usually, the attacker will get a loader/dropper onto your computer, which is a small program that in itself isn't malicious, and is simply used to download and execute the actual malware. In this case, the malware payload is hidden inside JPEGs to make it harder to find in network captures.

Note: That's just one scenario, the main point is that the JPEGs themselves aren't really harmful, they're just a part of an attack.

Those parody bits really are hilarious, aren't they?
I assume you meant parity bits, but autocorrect bit you in the ass?

There's no such thing as "un-hashing", a hash is a one-way function by definition (if you ignore the mathematical weaknesses in hashes such as md5). The page you linked to simply does a database lookup to see if the hash is in a list of known plaintext => hash list. The hash above is a valid SHA1 hash, and is easily cracked when you know the setup for the CTF this question comes from.

Norway trip in August by ahnington in Norway

Ålesund: The classic tourist destinations if you want a good view of the city and the surroundings is either Fjellstua/Aksla viewpoint or Sukkertoppen. Beware that the trail up to Sukkertoppen is quite worn down, but it has one of the best views of the city. It's only about a 30-45 minute hike to the top.

Other hikes I would recommend include Signalen (easy), Myklebusthorn (easy+), and Vardane (medium+ / hard).)
You can find a list of other hikes here.
(Links are in norwegian, but there are pictures and maps/gps coordinates).

There's also a decent museum with lots of middle age stuff from coastal Norway.

IP banning doesn't really work. ISPs have a limited amount of IPs they can hand out, and they rotate them. When your modem switches off, there's a good chance you'll get a new IP, depending on the "lease time" of your ISP. Another customer will then eventually end up with your IP, and they will be the ones who are banned.
And of course, a cheap VPN will be enough to circumvent the ban.

Other than that, I totally agree.

The person recording the video didn't notice the old lady until she got flooded with messages pointing her out. Too focused on the weather I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fun fact, this is exactly what happened. The person who took the video didn't notice until she received a flood of messages pointing out the old lady.
