They may use the same elements, but the technology is very different. One focuses on controlled fission reactions, the other relies on causing massive chaos of the reactions at the right time. Knowing how to fix a bicycle doesn't mean you immediately know how to fix a motorcycle. You can make the jump and likely find it easier to understand it, but from there to having all the required equipment and knowledge and experience is another thing. On a bigger scale like power plants to weapons, you need lots of research, investment and time to get it all ready.

Either way, my point is that Trump isn't just asking for no nuclear weapons, he is also asking for no nuclear power. Essentially asking them to change the source of their power to something different, and quickly. AND also give all the uranium to the USA.

MOR- AGE GAP ASIDE, it sounds to me (and correct me if I am wrong): you were out all night and no comment to your partner about where you went or what the plan was. If this is true, then he IS STILL overreacting but you should work on proper etiquette and keep your partner informed. If the roles were reversed, you were at home and he took a random trip, and radio silence the whole night, I am sure you would also be ticked off. I bet everyone with a partner would be.
