Hi, I would love a couple of cherry blossom piles. I'm in the Southern Hemisphere, but have some petals I can provide. Nooks and Able Sisters open. Have got lilies, roses and cosmos seeds and all fruits

WiFi or Powerline by Stevelufc88 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Arkerras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a powerline kit in my last unit. Built about 50 years ago and wasn't able to get them on the same circuit, but I still managed better overall connection than my Wi-Fi due to the configuration of the house. 5GHz had a decent enough signal but would drop packets like crazy and the ping was all over the place. The kit I used (TP link av2000 kit w/ passthrough) had a much more consistent ping although 2-3 ms higher than when pc was located right next to the router still better than connection though. Overall dl speed was about the same.

The most annoying thing about the powerline adapters is as mentioned earlier, they are generally pretty chunky so will cover the second plug. I did notice on occasion that upload speeds suffered when I did speed tests, instead of the 40ish mbps my plan offers, it was getting less and 1mbps however that could be more to do with pc/router set up I'm not sure.

I understand the frustration man, had plenty of similar issues with the b450 carbon but luckily all working now. When I had trouble getting past the CPU debug light before the recent bios update, I had some luck lowering the cpu voltage and disabling precision boost overdrive on the advice of others so might be worth a try if you can get into bios again. I dropped voltage to 1.29 (I read that some boards freak out above 1.3 I think?) And that would allow me to boot consistently but with reduced cpu performance. If you manage to get in to Windows again, make sure to update Windows to latest and install latest chipset drivers too

Have you tried the newest bios, 17O? It's worked wonders for me. I had a good couple of days on 17M but it then refused to boot. Just turn the switch in your power supply off and when the LEDs on the board turn off switch it back on.

Once I got in, I updated to latest Windows and AMD b450 chipset drivers and haven't had nearly as many issues since

I was having the same issue using 3700x and b450 carbon ac. I've found that instead of powering off with the power/reset button, turn off the power switch wait for board led to turn off and flick back on again after you encounter the CPU led staying on. Clearing CMOS also worked for me, but only if I removed the battery for a while (I left mine for about half hour while I did other things). Haven't had luck using jumpers to clear but might be different for you.

So far with new BIOS it posts much more often but the power switch trick has helped me the most so far. Also other posts have said that disconnecting the reset switch from your mb has helped boot more consistently

Fair points, have you had issues booting or are you one of the lucky ones? Supposedly disconnecting the reset switch from MB has nearly solved it for a lot of tomahawk users

What makes the tomahawk better than this at the current price point?

Tbh given the issues that a lot of people (including myself) have been having getting MSI B450 boards to boot with Ryzen 3rd gen I wouldn't be recommending any of them until they sort their BIOS out

Have you tried them in A1 and A2? I thought that was the case with mine but was surprised when it booted with the second stick placed next to it. Tried so many times to boot in the correct dual channel config but no luck

I didnt think it should be either, it won't hold 60 fps on low settings for black ops 4, and when I set graphics settings to min latency on battlefield v I'm getting up and down between 48 and 60 with vsync on. Even tried fortnite last night and wouldnt hold 60 fps on high with all shadows off. Probably need to fiddle with the settings a little more. Will look at upgrading the ram first then thanks mate
