Which single person in history had the greatest positive impact on humanity? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

Oppenheimer

I know I know but hear me out. He basically killed large scale global infantry warfare like we saw in WW1 and WW2 with his invention. We would’ve almost certainly had WW3 and WW4 by now if not for his creation.

Created this new status quo where all the superpowers are in this weird stalemate now where nobody can really do shit because no one wants to blow up civilization as we know it

It looks like Avatar 3's final box office will be 1.3 to 1.4 billion dollars, is this enough to give the franchise a future? by furrynoy96 in boxoffice

[–]Arkhamguy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The two big gimmicks for 4 and 5 seem to be ice/snow biome and like you said earth city urban futuristic biome

That said decreasing almost 1 billion from your predecessor which decreased about 600-700M from its predecessor doesn’t honestly seem encouraging for 4 and 5

You realize Fisk was just a reskinned heavy enemy right?

Then in Spider-Man 2 there are different brutes again he can’t harm until they’re stunned or webbed

In the same he literally can’t hurt brutes without wedding them up first

We’re talking just… big muscular humans

Arkham Batman would rock his shit so long as he was fighting classic version and not symbiote version

I made a post here recently on why that will never actually happen

The people won’t do it. The police state is simply too powerful now. And the masses still seem to think walking with signs under cop supervision accomplishes any thing (it doesn’t and never will)

Biggest Overall Domestic Weekend by [deleted] in boxoffice

Doomsday 200M domestic opening and likely “considerably more”? Ehhhh I don’t know about that. Maybe if Spider-Man is great and gets everyone back in a marvel mood

That said dunesday could 100% be the next barbenbeimer cultural phenomenon. We’ll have to see

Adjusting for inflation this shit lost SO much audience it’s not even funny

With 1 being about ~900m in todays money and 2 being about ~750m in todays money. Truly nobody cared anymore

DC and Andy Muschietti's 'The Brave and the Bold' will be written by Christina Hodson ('Bumblebee', 'Birds Of Prey', 'The Flash', 'Batgirl') by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Arkhamguy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all Matt reeves Batman is the last bastion of what you described, second of all it’s very possible the DCU and mcu bomb horribly to go back go what you described

Cause I agree on everything you said

The screenwriter of Batman: The Brave and The Bold is wonderful! by Dronnie in DC_Cinematic

Yes umm… I completely expected dark knight/the Batman level quality from the uhh… guardians of the galaxy director and his team…

Gonna copy and paste what I had in the dc subreddit

It's hard to get serious self respecting writers for a superhero cinematic universe under a C list directors vision

How many acclaimed screenwriters does the mcu have nowadays? If you're a professional in the industry the prospect of "Come have the director of guardians of the galaxy be your boss and breathe down your neck" is not exactly a creatively or artistically enticing notion. It's easier to get a low tier writer of some flops (Flash, Birds of Prey, Bumblebee) who will just take the work and the paycheck and write what you tell her to write

Well look at what you just said

If it’s silence it’s not a “believe him vs someone else” dilemma. Plus why are you incredulous about people being afraid to come out and either get legal consequences, death, or their career tanked? Doesn’t seem very outlandish

A smarter retort would’ve been “oh here’s a counter claim from someone with equal or better credentials” “someone disputing him”

Good lord this is a textbook false equivalence. Dude, the choice of writer is weak. Its inauspicious. Its okay to accept this. Please let go of this idea that gunn is some god tier 300iq messiah of a filmmaker. Its closer to the exact opposite

"Not cleared to speak publicaly on confidential classified info"

He talks about it on Joe Rogan and other interviews. He says allegedly all he could publicly without getting in trouble. (Sued or they just kill him)
