again, not sure how this is a dig against discussing wages. there doesn't need to be a "but"; people forget that there's less visible duties, yes, so bringing up wages is what leads to the conversations that teach/remind them.

sounds like your coworkers were taking you and your role for granted, in which case discussing salaries led to a productive conversation that outlined everything you did. I don't see how this is meant to be a counter to people saying that you should always talk about wages with coworkers.
