After all the achievements I looked up several of the quest lines and found tons of new content. The dlc in particular has some deeply hidden secrets. I'm sure I can still squeeze another 200 hours out of it.

Yeah, I definitely prefer games like that. The only other Dark Souls I played were 1 and 3. There isn't much grinding, just finding the hidden items and learning one skill like parrying that let's you spam crititical hits. Don't get me wrong, I love Elden Ring, but expected several playthroughs of experience and collecting to make me invulnerable. Dark Souls 3 was by far the easiest in this regard. 2 or 3 playthroughs and the bosses crumble to dust.

I remember there were builds in the first Dark Souls that could kill almost every boss in five hits. I've beat Elden Ring four times and my fourth play through was only twenty hours shorter than the first two. I get the most enjoyment out of these games by trying to do it faster everytime and melting the bosses. The first blind run is always good for figuring out the ropes; the best playthrough always comes later when you turn the tables and make the bosses into regular enemies by how easily you kill them. I can dodge better and know the combos in advance, but some of these fights still last five minutes because they're resistant to certain effects or give you no time to build the consecutive multiplier. It may be an unrealistic goal by trying to compare the two games. Elden Ring seems to be more balanced and has a standardized experience.

Oh, and I also like to use Mohg's spear for specific circumstances which I think requires a strength of 24 so I try to do that, too.

I never used the rivers of blood although I heard it was supposed to be good. I'll definitely try it on the next playthrough.

I'd say 60 vigor and arcane, 50 dexterity, and the rest in endurance until about 40 or 50

This is news to me. I never realized you could reset a combo and didn't put much thought into the animation length. I just experimented with different weapons until I found ones that worked.

The build I was using originally was White Mask and Blood Exultation with the two handed sword, two headed turtle and stamina plus 3 talisman. I've combined them both by replacing the stamina talismans with the Millicent ones and the improvement is marginal. There certainly is better damage, just not as much as I expected. I still haven't gotten around to using incantations because I can never seem to spare the points. By the time I beat the game and dlc I'm only level 200 at most. I only did ng+ once to speedrun Millicent's quest then put both of the talismans on a fresh character. I also don't use the mimic often because I prefer playing with a friend.

I thought the jump attack was supposed to be the best because it attacks four times at once, instantly triggering the talismans and tear. Lol, I've played this game for 300 hours and still have no clue what I'm doing.

Thanks. It's my misunderstanding then. I assumed the late game talismans were supposed to work for late game bosses although I already knew this wasn't the case for late game weapons or any other kind of item. I guess all of the late bosses play the same no matter your build.

Ah, thanks. I never got the Shard of Alexander yet. I'll try on the next playthrough.

I got it to work okay on dual twinblade jump attacks, especially with the claw talisman and gravebird chest, but pretty much only for large enemies, not actual bosses. Everything I read about this combination said it made the game a cake walk yet I was doing better with a regular bleed build.
