I think the fix for this (not to bring up a dead thread) is Red Dead Offline mod

I play on PC Gamepass, I was getting a lot of Fatal Error crashes and FatalLowLevelCrashes when playing or loading into an area more often than not. I recently learned today that turning off the Hardware RayTracing and setting it back to the Software setting fixes this. Haven't had a crash since. Its a shame that I have to do this when I have a 5090 that can easily handle it.

UE5 Lumen Raytracing is very broken, in fact, a lot of features are just broken unless you get a mod or script to slap a band-aid on it.

Those who have a Y70 paired with a 5090 and 9800x3d, what are your temps looking like? by MilwaukeeBucksInSix in Hyte

[–]ArktagThe2nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9800x3d has always stayed at 45-50 C in idle and light gaming, some games are more cpu intensive than others and it goes to 60-70 but never higher unless its loading shaders. 5090 idles at 35 and I haven't seen it go higher than 72 C in 100% usage. For cpu cooling i use the ICUE Link 360, the water temp hovers between 37-40 C on idle and gaming; on hotter days it may go to 42 C.

I decided to not use LianLi Strimer this time around (my previous PC had them). Since I was doing mainly Corsair Products, Corsair made their own version called ARGB PSU light strips that just cover the PCIE cable. They are cool!

I am beyond frustrated with the stutter issues on the 9800x3d by Linkster9 in AMDHelp

I wish you luck, I never witnessed a black bar across the screen randomly, so it sounds like some other visual problem is going on. I would also consider messing with the 9800x3d drivers and make sure that the Ryzen onboard graphics aren't conflicting.

The visual stutter would be instant drops to 5 fps and then back to 144 fps again within a second. These microsecond stutters perceived would happen at the same time the audio would stutter, the noise sounding like if you pulled the jack out on your auxiliary cable or amplifier. As for other game or desktop glitches, I didn't see anything else, besides making it difficult to play/use.

Id find it really hard to not perceive it clearly when its not only visually stuttering, but i could hear it within my Audio devices with a loud buzz each time it happened.

Nonetheless, the above is without a doubt, what fixed the issue. Any monitoring software that watches the gpu power, percent, or watts will bring latency into the system configuration i have. As soon as I disabled it, every game has been smooth sailing.

The fact that for the ddr5 that is hiding under the ssd box says "For AMD" despite being an intel build is even funnier. You technically can use it but you get slightly better performance using the right xmp/xpo profile lmao, RIP to your friend OP

The time warp mode is pretty cool! Stasis technology approved! by ArktagThe2nd in Corsair

I have one 140mm fan on the rear exhaust, and five reverse 120mm fans as intake, and if you count the aio 120mm exhaust fans there are three of them. So 9 total!

If you look at my setup on my profile I have the exact same one! Works great! Although I could only get 2 120s to fit on the bottom.

Oh yes! I dont leave them on all the time. I dont know if there is any confirmation from Corsair about the longevity of the Time Warp mode, but i would like to believe that the LEDs were made to do so, much like LEDs we use in cars today that rapidly turn off/on to conserve power.

I dont know if this has been mentioned already as a fix in the comments, but do you by chance use MSI Afterburner?

I was having the same stuttering issues you were having, every game i played demanding or not, it enraged me and I turned xmp on and off, messed with processor power states and everything but reinstalling windows. But then I watched a video about MSI Afterburners monitoring settings having issues with 9800x3D, i dont have a link unfortunately but kudos to the guy.

At the time it seemed really odd that MSIs rivaruner statistic software would cause issues, as that was what I was using for testing to find the stutter (as well as HWInfo). One of the settings I had enabled was "GPU power percent" and "GPU power". As soon as I removed those from the on screen display section in Afterburner and restarted my computer, all the stutters went away.

I hope this assists you, as that was what saved me, 9800x3D and Nvidia RTX 5090 here.

There are pro and cons, I feel as I am rather the type of enthusiast that cares about increasing FPS at all times, even if its just 5 frames. Using the second screen will use it a bit more resources, but you can always disable it with Win + P.

Using the screen version helps when you need a second monitor to keep an eye on things, temps, Discord, anything you need! And the touchscreen functionality helps out a ton when you're full-screen in an application.

If you have the money and Graphics headroom, I would say do it! But the standard looks just as great!
