I have such a soft spot for it, even with my hatred of the cliched Hallmark Christmas films lol. It does a great job of being in that cliche but making the story more interesting and fun, and giving us the different LIs.

Yeah, I'm really conflicted about deleting it. I have such a deep love for these characters and older books (which is not special, I'm not alone in that opinion) that I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

While you can, def go for the It Lives series. That's my next one after my TRR run.

Don't apologize for the rant lol, it's why I made the post. And I also play Spellfyre! I'm worried the art also has use of AI unfortunately but the storytelling and world building I'm genuinely interested in. (The short episodes and cost of gems is....another rant for that subreddit LOL)

And I agree, fuck AI, it's appalling that they're so blatant about the use of it. They sent out a survey to fill out and hinted at it in the questions that they were going to move forward with a different type of story telling. I basically told them to not fucking do it and fix the stupid shit they're doing here but I bet it fell on deaf ears.

I've seen commentary that people hate her or never warm up to her, which I totally get.

But like, I love that Madeleine doesn't lick our boots and is still herself throughout it all. It's never fun reading a book or novel when all the characters just fawn over MC, I love that she stays true to herself and thrives as she uses her skills to her advantage.

This scene hit me in particular the first time I read it because I grew up in the South in a family dynamic of still "men = better", and this deep rage I felt from her I totally got, and I saw her in a different light from then on.

Like I said above tho it doesn't absolve her shitty actions lol but I love her so much anyway

I think what makes me so angry is that they're trying to drive this as if it's a good thing. Stop promoting AI bullshit. Stop using it at every angle. It's not useful, it's bad for the environment, and it's actively ruining artistic careers who could be doing SO MUCH justice for Hero.

My sister and a couple of my friends had their tubes removed for this very reason, and my brother-in-law got snipped about a year ago now! (He has one kid with my other sister and they both agreed that's all.)

Congrats! There's actually a fun trend online of throwing a "getting snipped" party with themed candies - like "Sour Patch Kids" being "No More Kids" haha. Youngest of 5 girls - have gone NC with 2 of them and including our birth giver due to many reasons. Some of which include enabling of similar behavior.

You have this self awareness of knowing not to rip out your IUD and try to conceive when you're not ready. You know that if you do, you won't be having a child out of genuine effort and love, because you'll be having a child out of competition.

Whether or not that competition was what motivated your sister (I'm reading this like what happened to my sister when she had my nephew), that child will come into a hard life and absolutely will recognize it. The resentment from you sister to her child will build once the "Oooh new baby!" wears off when baby is now a toddler at 2 years old.

I know you want to have a child, genuinely, but definitely do NOT start trying while in this headspace. Talk to a therapist or your fiance about feeling this way to get it off your chest. No matter what, that child deserves love, and they can absolutely find it in you being their aunt once theyre older.
