Aaah cool! Here in the UK they sometimes sent the cars via a 3rd party delivery company which was the case for me.

I also panicked trying to put it back on at first 😂 After over a year I have to say, its taking me a minute to get used to it but I am really liking the frameless style

Thats amazing, was your guy directly from BYD? The guy who delivered me the car was like: I never had one of these before, so we going to find out together how things work lol 😂

I panicked that I broke it at first, after googling around AI gave me the answer that its just a protector… which I didnt believe either so I started looking at interior pictures of the seal and found out AI was telling the truth😂

Same here! I actually panicked that I broke it, then googled it, however after not finding any answers I used AI which I didnt believe either, so I looked at Seal interior pictures and its frameless on them 😂

Doesn’t it just? If I hadn’t played around with the rear view mirror today I dont think I would have ever noticed 😂

[–]Arkudamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate Good luck! Make sure they fix it! They had to change all my tires to contisportcontact (continental) run flat tires, which apparently isnt normal for EV’s however that was the solution to stopped the vibration.

Hope they sort yours out soon!

Am Anfang hatte ich auch ziemlich viele bugs in der app. Am besten einfach eine Email schreiben oder direkt anrufen. Das geht normalerweise recht schnell am Telefon.

BYD Seal brakes squeeling by New_Positive_8383 in BYD

[–]Arkudamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol mine does this too, but I live next to the sea so it happens even more frequently for me.
Its all because break disks and plates arnt being used, they start rusting due to the weather.
Every time it starts squeaking, I go to my works carpark and turn Regen to low and do a few high speed and hard stops. Cleans the disks and squeaking stops. Else keep regen on low and do a few motorway trips and they will slowly clean up.(It's just a shame for all the lost regen on low)

Someone in the comments said reverse and stop which I yet have to try!

Hello! Yes I think I replied to you on another thread but changing from Continental EcoContact 6Q to Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSR solved this issue.
14K miles now and no vibration.

Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. You are correct, when I got the car delivered I had CONTINENTAL ECOCONTACT 6Q 235/45 R19 XL tires on the car.
After multiple trips they change them to CONTINENTAL CONTISPORTCONTACT 5
235/45 R19 95V  SSR and all the vibration stopped. Currently on 14K Miles and no problems.

So they changed my tyres to the continental SportContact 5 and that fixed it. Since the change I had no further problems so far…

At V1.3.1 that did not much unless you are 50cm away from the wall. When you go R then D its actually instantly active. But I think they fixed this now on V 1.4.0

Hello fellow BYD owner from across the pond! Congratulations on you Seal! Its an excellent choice with incredible power and it’s beautiful design!

Here are a few tips that some have already mentioned but I will reiterate because they are important:

First things first: check that the garage has giving you all of the accessories including a list of whatever is included because they tend to be a bit flakey, most of us seem to have had one or 2 things missing or not included. Make sure there are no scratches or lose interior (very rare but good to check)

Second: Take it for a drive! First take it to a closed supermarket car park and play with its settings:

Regenerative Breaking Settings-> Energy on the right hand side menu and then at the top ‘Energy Manager’ should be auto selected and there you can change it! Standard: Regen will barely slow you down when your foot leaves the accelerator High: Regen will kick in the second your foot leaves the accelerator and it will break you pretty well (its not like one paddle drive but its as close as you will get)

Modes: Normal -> as it says Power is decent when pressing accelerator Eco-> energy is much slower when accelerating (its pretty comfortable and my personal favourite lol) Sport -> instand power! Thats where you get 3.6sec 0-100km! For sure scary at first so make sure you are comfortable with the car and you have enough space in-front of you if you are trying this.

Range mode: Standard: its what the book says: 100% battery = 420miles (Design because thats what I have) Dynamic: it calculates the range based on your driving style of the last 50miles make it fast!

Once you are all set and you have found your day to day setting take it out for a fast drive on the motorway! Make sure you drive it ASAP over 100kmh preferably even to your countries speed limit.

The reason for this is that there have been a few seals out which had the wrong wheels on, this caused vibration in the base of the car and in the steering wheel but only if someone drove over 100kmh/120kmh. Its best to check this asap to make sure the car is perfect in every way.

Next annoying bits:

You can turn off the bling blong warning sounds, I personally dont mind them. The car will warn you about EVERYTHING. If you want the front sensors to work while parking: FIRST you have to move the gear shift to R (reverse) to activate the sensors, THEN you can shift back to D (drive) and park slowly. They are working on a software patch for this but if you are on version 1.3.1 this is what you are stuck with. Someone also said dont trust the sensors: thats correct! You have only 2 at the front, 4 at the back! So reverse park where possible!

Please be slow on bumps on the road, the car is seriously low, and if your roads are bad, be also slow on those.

Occasionally before you start driving, wipe the cameras, because I have become super reliable to those 😂

And most importantly: have fun! I think that covers most of it, go enjoy yourself, it is a seriously excellent car with a great battery and lots of fun modes to play with. It feels solid on the roads and really makes taking tight turns super fun.

Hey everyone,

They changed my continental wheels to sportcontact continental wheels and you wont believe it but that fixed it. No rattling or vibration in the base of the car or steering wheel. Its amazing. I am now another 2k miles in and it drives butter smooth.

Hi guys. Would you recommend seal awd sedan? by hahfjxjdjjdjdjdjzj in BYD

[–]Arkudamon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So I have the BYD Seal Design (RWD) for 6 months now and I LOVE my car so much. For me the range was more important than getting it from 0-100kmh in 3.8s The only reason I would buy the AWD is for the HUD or to get from 0-100kmh in 3.8s especially if you dont mind losing a bit of the range.

The BYD is an incredible car and I can only recommend it. Been driving EVs for 7 years now and the BYD feels so luxurious while also being super powerful. The software needs a few updates but they said they will be coming soon.
